Monitor 70's and Bose System
I just purchased a condo that has a Bose four speaker system with The Bose Acoustimass-5 Series II Speaker system. I have two Acoustimass bass modules. One is is hooke up to the rear speakers and the second to the front speakers.
I have two Monitor 70's that I used for my front speakers at my old house. I had them bi-amped with the upper speakers used as back surrounds. I have a Polk CS20 Center speaker. My receiver is an Onyko TX-NR808.
I currently have the Bose front speakers connected to the Back Surround terminals and the Bose rear speakers are connected to the Surround terminals.
I am looking for help on the best way to connect both my Monitor 70's and the Bose sound system to my receiver to get the best sound results.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I'm only using an antenna so far so haven't gotten to really check the sound. Getting Directv installed Thursday so will get to really get to see how the system sounds. I let u know.

Why would you want the back surround channel to play in the front ?HT SYSTEM-

When I had my Monitors bi-amped, the top speakers were connected to the back surrounds. These were the instructions I received.

If your receiver was in bi-amp mode, but If I read your post correctly, your using it now for the Bose, so again, why do you want the sound for the back surround to come out of the front ?
Here's what I would do if you insist on keeping the bose. Take that receiver out of bi-amp mode first. Decide if your going to do 5 or 7 channel surround. Use 2 of the bose speakers as the center channel, maybe even 3 or 4, then fill in the left and right rear channels with the bose cubes, do back surround with the cubes too but leave them in the back surround position, not on the front stage. Have extra cubes, double up on the surround channels but make it even. In other words, don't have 2 cubes on the left surround and only one on the right. Get me ?HT SYSTEM-

I have my Polk CS20 as my center channel. I thought connecting my front Bose to either the front high or front wide connectors, and leavening rear Bose as the surrounds.
Other idea was using front Bose as surrounds and rear Bose as rear surrounds.
Would one of the options also work? -
tonyb - I have been reviewing your response on how to connect my Bose speakers and also using my Monitor 70's. You indicated using 2-4 speakers as my centers. I couldn't figure out how to incorporate my Polk speakers in your recommendation.

Jim, my mistake, some older Bose subs had line level inputs, the newer ones don't,such as yours.
Here is your answer.
Hook up the polks to the receiver, the fronts and the CS20 as the center, now depending on where you want the bose cubes, lets say as surrounds, you hook up speaker wire from the receivers surround speaker outputs to the Bose subs speaker inputs. Then speaker wire from the subs outputs to the speaker. You only have 2 cubes, correct ? So I would imagine you'd want those as surrounds.
Jim, it may be worth noting that Bose cubes need to be hooked up by way of their subwoofer and not directly from a receiver. Their crossover is located in the sub itself. If you hook up the Bose cubes to a receiver without using the sub, you will eventually fry them.HT SYSTEM-

You can use the Bose cubes without the sub. They can be wired direct to the amp, just make sure you have the cross over in the amp set properly. Before I got my Fxi4's I used the cubes. Believe I set them at 80htz but can't remember for sure

Tonyb, I have 2 sets of 4 speakers. The front set of 4's have their own sub and the back set of 4's are connected to a separate sub. All 4 sets of 2 speakers drop down from the ceiling. What's ur recommendation for this setup.

You have a 7.2 receiver. Do both of the subs have one or two RCA inputs?AVR-Onkyo TX-NR808

I have a 7.2 receiver (Onkyo TX-NR 808). The subs are connected to the Bose Speakers & don't have any RCA inputs.

They are speaker wire connections if I'm correct.
So let me understand this, you want to connect a total of 8 bose cubes plus the M70's and the center channel ? If so, my next question is going to be why ?
I suppose you could connect the Polks as normal. Front left and right from the receiver to the M70'S, center from the receiver to the center channel. Then take your surround channels and run speaker wire to the sub in the back of the room with the 4 bose cubes. That would leave out the front bose cubes however.... unless you have height channels on the receiver.HT SYSTEM-

Tonyb: I just bought the condo and the Bose speakers were already here. I bought the CS-20 & M70's last year. I really like the sound of the M70's and wanted to continue to use them.
I do have high channels on my Onyko TXNR-808 receiver. I currently have the front Bose connected to the front high channels. I haven't had a chance to play a Blue-Ray movies yet to hear how it sounds.
