Just do a search for nad on the forum and that should answer your question. From what I've read if you like the receiver you should be just as happy if not happier with their amps. What are you looking to power with them?

Just got an entry-level integrated amp from NAD (326BEE). Sure, it was on sale, but for the price it's sound is clear, somewhat neutral with enough punch/bass.

I guess an amp would achieve the same overall sound, but with way more power output. So yeah, from what I read, NAD is a good competitor out there. While it doesn't compete against really high-end audiophile stuff, it clearly hold it's own against similarly priced amp/pre-amp/integrated amp.

However, people like or dislike it's sound (like every other brand anyways). At least, I gotta say there is a lot of people over here that will recommand NAD if you ever ask. Sure, there will be people who are gonna say that it's crappy, but they'll compare it to an amp twice it's price, or they don't like the "lack of synergy" it created within their system.

You can also look for an Emotiva amp like the XPA-2. Good power, great price (well, higher than my budget, but it's great for someone looking for a separate amp). I didn't had the opportunity to listen to it, but as far as I can read, it's a great buy too.

If you like the Nad receivers, you'll like their amps. I do have a question for ya though. What makes you think you even need an amp ? Those speaks are pretty darn easy to drive. Don't get me wrong, any speaker can benefit from an amp, but do you think thats the best way to spend the coin in your system ? I'm thinking the RTIA 7's or 5's may be up your alley with Nad gear. Just a thought, not trying to talk you out of anything.

NAD makes a solid product for the price. I've had a few of their integrated amps, receivers, tuners and cd players and never once regretted buying any of them. In fact the only regrets I had were selling them. The C542 HDCD CD player sounds really sweet.

NAD amps are rock solid. I loved hearing some Maggie MMG's on a NAD 2 channel amp. It hung with them where my Carver was struggling.

George, what can I say! You know George is right!

Although you can find some good buys on used Brystons you do "pay" for that warranty and what goes with it. It's tough to beat the NAD in its price class if "you" like the sound.

I run the integrated below which I like almost as much with my LSi-7s as an upscale GamuT integrated and Marantz CD/SACD player-- a system somewhere in the 10+ grand range that I heard powering the Polks in Beijing about a year ago. The Higher End system did have more "resolution" than my set up, but I don't "miss" that with the much cheaper configuration because its so "smooth" and "listenable" you forget the other system was better.

Oh, and I have a wife, that always tells me to "turn it down!".

Have fun. The only thing to watch for on some NADs (cerca mid decade 2000s) are for possible "bad" caps.

I've got a couple (older) NADs: a 2600A in my main system, and a 2100 in my bedroom setup. While I may replace them eventually, I'm in no rush; they're serving my needs very capably.

I have a T955 5.1 NAD amp and am very happy with it. Purchased thru Audio Advisors a couple years ago, we were thrilled with how much it improved the Onkyo-only interim setup.

After a few months, one of the channels was lost. I phoned AA and they gave me instructions as to where to take it in Tampa for authorized repair. When I phoned to arrange dropping the unit off the shop said they had never had that amp in for repair - thought they were bulletptoof (his words).

A few days later it was fixed and back in business. All fairly painless except for NAD. That repair shop had charged NAD almost $300 more for the repair than I paid for the unit! While I appreciate NAD standing behind their product, I wish (and would suggest) that they had offered a factory exchange program instead.

All together, we consider the T955 a bargain for someone wanting a 5.1 system. I believe it matches well with our Polk speakers and would buy another if necessary.

I don't have any NAD stuff but have several friends who do and I think it's an interesting topic. The NADs I've heard sound great but I never really compared them head to head with others whether they cost more or not. I don't think you can go wrong with NAD though.

Loved my C272. I can't believe I let it go for $200 bucks! I also had an integrated that I can't remember the model of and that was awesome too.
