RTA11t's & room size....
I found a pair of RTA11t's locally and I am unsure if they will work-out well in my current room, which is 11.5' wide by 16' deep. Also, my RTiA9s will be occupying the same room. Will the distances from the side & rear walls work....your thoughts:question:

Thats alot of speakers in a smallish room. The 9's alone seem like they should be more than enough. Whats the purpose these would be used for ?HT SYSTEM-

Music only....looking for something new in this department. Another other idea is a pair of LSi7s.....

You looking to replace the 9's ? I don't get it, you have a full HT setup in that room. The 9's are still the better speaker if thats what you want to know.HT SYSTEM-

I've been using a slightly smaller room than that, with a few pairs of large speakers. It definitely is tricky getting placement right, however, I really enjoy being able to change between speaker sets quickly. If a pair of 11t's came up near me for a good price I would be running to pick them up. I have always wanted to listen to the 11t as well as the 15t. Since I have not heard them, I cannot comment on their sound in a small room.

Not looking to replace the RTiA setup...would like to keep intact for HT use. Just looking for something different for music. I find the A9s somewhat tiring for music listening after owning them for some time now... -
Ahh...Ok, gatcha. Forgive me for being slow tonight.
So I have another question for you, no answers, only questions.
Why not sell the 9's and get a more musical front set ?HT SYSTEM-

Honestly, I am pretty frugal and don't want to change-out all 5 RTiA series due the supposed timbre-matching issue. Also, from what I have seen, the A9 resale value seems pretty weak to me. Here are a couple of options I have been kicking around awhile now. (Keep in mind I have an 80" screen between these fronts):
Option A. Add a pair of LSi7s on stands in between the A9s
Option B. Have the A9s and A6 center upgraded cross-overs by some nice person on the forum
Option C. Sell the A9s and replace with.......? SDAs (not sure if room is big enough for SDAs) -

Thats why I got rid of my RTi12s. Just not up to snuff for music. Great for HT though. I love my RTA8Ts for music. I'm sure the 11s are great as well. -
Since you have a nice amp already, and it will be for 2 channel, why not venture out for bookies on stands to another brand ? Not dissing the Polk bookies, just saying there's lots of flavors out there.
I used to think that timbre matched surrounds was of importance too. As long as you don't venture too far away from the fronts sound, you'd be hard pressed to tell a difference with other brands in HT for surround speakers. I use Legacy fronts and polk surrounds, sound is pretty darn good. I was in your shoes at one point, looking to better the musical side of things. First you have to figure out whats more important to you, HT or music. I wanted a music first speaker that could hold it's own in HT too since I use one system for both. Just saying is all, did the 7.1 thing, then 5.1, now I'm down to 4.0. Have had numerous systems from Polk over the years, 1.2's, RT5000's, SRT's, to name a few, and right now my 4.0 gives me the most joy I had from all of them so far. I guess mostly because over the years my listening habits have gravitated more to music than HT. That said, once you make the commitment to the musical side of things, you'll get hooked, just like you did when HT first came about. The bookies on stands is a good idea, for a temp fix, imho anyway and since you have budget concerns, that may very well be the route to take. But expand your horizons my friend, a whole world of musical pleasure is out there. Think about it.HT SYSTEM-

Thanks! It sounds pretty good. I DO like the JBL. Digs pretty deep and has a tight punchiness. Had a Polk PSW350 that was ok. Like the JBL better. Havent ever really heard any highend subs though.
