Thanks to a lot of you, I was convinced about a week ago to purchase a Pioneer SC-35 for my new home theater system. I was going to pay $900 for the receiver on Amazon, but I just realized that the SC-55 is only $150 more. I was wondering what the main differences are between the two receivers and if it's worth upgrading.

Should I stick with buying the SC-35, or instead upgrade to the SC-55? Your thoughts and expertise would be greatly appreciated.

I believe there useing different amps in the 55. The 35 uses b&0 ice amps.

The SC-55 also uses the ice amps technology but has been further refined from the SC-35. If it really only is $150, the newer SC receivers have been getting great reviews and with the newer version of the ice amps, I would spend the extra coin. BTW, I love my SC-25, great power and clean sound.
