How good are these speakers? Would I be disappointed if I bought them without hearing them? I have been looking at them for a while now and at $305.00 with free shipping it seems like a good deal. Would be driven with a Marantz 2330b. Speakers I presently have are a pair of Psb 4t's and a pair of Ads l710s. Is this a no brainer?

M70s are a nice speaker for your HT. But I don't think they will compete with something like a set of ADS L710s. The ADS have more detail, better imaging and so on. I have a set of M70s in my HT...and they're great--for that purpose. But I would prefer my ADS L520s for strict two channel music!

M-70s also sound better with more power even though they're pretty efficient!

Not sure what they would sound like on a Marantz??

That sounds like a great price for a pair of 70's. I love mine, also have them running off of a 200wpc amp.

I agree completely with cnh. I had a pair of Monitor 70s for a while, I really liked them for HT and non-critical music listening. Once I set them up in my 2 channel system however, it became obvious that they were not up to critical 2 channel listening standards.

I wouldn't think twice about setting up a full surround system using the 70s as the mains, however I can almost guarantee those ADS' you have will sound much nicer when properly setup in a 2 channel music listening system than the 70s would

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I will pass on them, they will be used in a 2 channel system only. I want to get a pair of polk home speakers. I have them in my car but not in my home. I think I will start looking into some older ones. Thanks again for the comments.
