What's Your Family's Special Thanksgiving Dish?

A few decades ago it was "Aunt Clara's green beans", AKA green bean casserole.

Now it's a toss up between the wife's amazing chestnut dressing, and Alton Brown's deceptively simple chipotle smashed sweet taters (with adobo sauce)... a recipe even I can handle.

Of course, there's the pumpkin buckle that premiered last year to consider... makes its pie counterpart cower in the corner...
More later,

For breakfast red-eye gravy. Made with coffee and country ham drippings. Pour that on your biscuit and enjoy!

In addition to all the usual goodies, baked oysters & sauerkraut! Fantastic.

I wish I could host Turkey day since all I have to look forward to is bland, need salt or any seasoning food and poorly made deviled eggs. I can't think of a worse holiday, that really means nothing and is not even real aside from the lady who created it as such.

I volunteered to work instead. Hey, not everyone cares, it's just reality but I hope the rest of you have a great time and get some quality family time. Cha-ching-a-ling.
