Has anyone compared the sq of the Q700s? I like the price better :-). Would the difference be more than additional spl? Q700 vs q900.
I auditioned the Q700s as the store didn't have Q900 demos. They sound just as good, it's just the bass is a little lacking in comparison. But if you're getting a sub then you're good.Dali Optikon 1Mk2

If they were as affordable as the clearance LSi in Canada, I would have bought them. Anyways, from what I read here and there, I think they hit higher than their price may suggest.Speakers: Polk Audio LSiM 705, LSiM 703, LSiM 704c
Receiver: Denon X3500H -
TREY - speaking of Q300s, how is the low end on those? I have a friend who wants to start out w/ a receiver and some bookshelves (and add the rest later). The pairing would be a Pioneer SC-55 + the Q300s (or possibly some LSi9s).
Is it a similar experience to the LSi9s where you could conceivably go without a sub in the short term?Dali Optikon 1Mk2

Hmmm, that is a tough answer as I am by nature a little more fond of bass than some but I will say if you are just looking for a good fill the Q300 are ok, as long as you dont need the real low stuff but if you are looking for painting melting, floor rippling bass - of course not...

The Q300 is a phenominal speaker for the money. I like it much better than the LSi9... IMO- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

Yeah I've been thinking about changing out the LSi9s as well. But uh ... recent female distractions are cutting my listening time down these days.
Compared to the 9s, how do the 300s fill? They're rated for 45Hz - 40kHz, so at least on paper it sounds like they'd dig similar to the 9s.
I like bass too ...apartment living has made me change my ways a bit lol. Hence my tower obsession. But the 900s kick out plenty so I'm OK.Dali Optikon 1Mk2

The problem I had with the LSi9 is it simply could not escape the box and it had so much "bass" or "midbass boom" that you could not get any clarity of any type out of it - the Q300 seems to offer similar extension on a more balanced scale with more accuracy...
The Q300 sounds like a modified LSi9... probably the best way to describe it.
Just a IMO of course.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Prazvt.... Have you heart the 703's yet?

Not yet - but I would definitely like to. Just not sure where I can go to get ears on them.Dali Optikon 1Mk2
