I just dropped $1k upgrading my mobo, cpu, ram, and added a bd-rom, and I'd like to upgrade the GC, but how would the audio/ video work?
Can I use the DVI and mini-hdmi @ the same time?
The reason for this queery, is, I lost the hdmi-out of my SC-05 last year in a lightning strike:frown:

You should be able to use them both as long as the hardware supports it (i.e. some will specifically state that it is a video only port even though it's HDMI)
I havent heard of too many things using mini HDMI though, it's usually a mini-displayport. Not saying they don't exist though.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

Agreed usually graphics card will have HDMI and mini display port. If using HDMI, run cable to the Pioneer.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

So, I may or may not get audio out on the mini conn., depending on the GC manufacturer?
Let me further explain what I'm doing, and what I want to do:
Right now I've got GC DVI>>>TV, and Mobo 5.1 Optic>>>SC05. I can play BD's but the sound quality isn't that great. I could remove the GC, and just run the mobo hdmi for BD's, but I don't think it's got the horsepower support gaming.
Therefore, I'd like to find a GC with audio out as well.
My only other 2 options:
A: repair the SCO5, (not likely)
B: replace the SC05($1,100):frown:I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
Do you need DVI for anything currently? Why not just get a card with dual HDMI outs? Most of the better cards will support audio - but just as a disclaimer, do realize that some do not.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)
