What's up with the new Polk product names?

This is not a knock on Polk marketing or whatever -

But IMO names such as "Blackstone" sound a little goofy.

Sounds like a name the CIA would use for some secret operation, not a speaker.

Again, just my opinion.

    Make me think of the "Bourne" movies aka "TreadStone" :biggrin:

    While I think it's a fine name for a speaker, I do wonder the etymology.

    Blackstone. The speakers are black, ok, check on that part. Stones are hard and sonically dead. I mean, we use them to help quell vibrations in speakers. So that's a good thing for teh speak to be "like a stone". Alright, check on that one too!

    Blackstone.

    Seems like a good name to me.

    Do you even know what the word "serendipity" means?

    I think the name's fine with that certain 'cool-ish' tinge :).

    What i'm happy about though is that their giving these new series code names. Much prefer that than to just TSi or RTi A and stuff

    (code name Blackstone with the actual series name being TL i believe)

    Considering Bose get's away with calling their products speakers, I think Polk is doing just fine!

    I'm not following. Serendipity describes a positive outcome. Are you using it in an attempt at irony or sarcasm?

    Sure, you can blame me all you want, I don't care!:biggrin:

    In any ways, to go back to the OP, I personally like the name, I think it suits them. While IMHO, Jtas doesn't have a clue most of the time since he is to busy to listen to himself I believe he's got it right this time around;
