4.0 to 4.01 much faster??? really? in what cases? i cant imagine how old a computer must be to notice differences in rendering pages on firefox.
Anytime people say their browser is faster, I am skeptical. Sure, when the browser benchmarks came out, we saw differences in the numbers (as in, this one was 10ms faster here or there)... but noticeable differences in speed during normal usage? That is much more likely to be caused by other factors including your connection speed, and all other connections leading up to your chosen website.
But who knows, I could be entirely wrong. -

you're right man... so the 4.0.1 FF browser prob isn't that much faster.. but my laptop liked it.. and I did clean up the registry.. so the reg cleaner prob made it seem like a faster browser.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

The 3 laptops I purchased from you last year, for instance.
Although 1 is developing a video card problem as it overheats and the screen goes vertical rainbow stripes after an hour, but that's not a Firefox issue.VTL ST50 w/mods / RCA6L6GC / TlfnknECC801S

The one thing I don't like is--up by the Back/Forward buttons, there used to be a little down arrow where you could look forward and back at the pages you had been on and go directly there without having to go through the intervening pages. I don't see that capability on the new browser. And the address bar is below the tabs, I don't care for that at all. OK, that was two things I don't like."Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."

It does not seem any faster to me. If you right click in the tool bar, select customize and follow the directions to ad in button options to the tool bar. -

You can reposition the location of the tabs in options. And if you click and hold on the back/forward buttons, it still brings up the recent history. It just doesn't have that little arrow that drops it down.Equipment list:

I assume you've cleaned out the fan and heat sink? I've literally pulled out a handful of dust from one of em. To be honest, that's probably something I should have done to all of them. I will definitely do this if I sell laptops in the future. (if you haven't, you can simply pull the keyboard (3 screws on the back, two tabs on the front) and remove the entire heat sink.) -
Get a quad-core rig and everything you throw at it gets faster.
I'm going to give it a whirl, I haven't use FF since like 05.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Cool, actually I found that in "view", "toolbars", and unclick the "Tabs on Top".kuntasensei wrote: »And if you click and hold on the back/forward buttons, it still brings up the recent history. It just doesn't have that little arrow that drops it down.
Thanks, that's good to know. Seems simpler (on a laptop at least) to just have the arrow."Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason." -
You can also just right click on the fwd/bck arrows to get that recent history. Quicker than clicking and holding.George Grand wrote: »

Cool, great to know! -
The big pain in the A** for me is the alphabetizing of the favorites folder when you import it from your old browser. My 2012 HT Room - http://www.avsforum.com/t/1416077/bsoko2-new-ht-june-2012

What tool/utility did you use to do the registry cleanup?
I've got an older desktop that is glacially slow and I suspect the registry is holding it back
