I have listened to both the Servo 15 and the Pdime 2200. Both put my PSW 350 to shame. The Servo 15 is the best sub I have ever heard.

Unfortunately, I have nothing to compare it to except entry level Velo (CHT) series and Polk subs. I have not had an opportunity to hear an SVS, REL, top Velo, or Sunfire sub.

I believe the Servo 15 made Dr. Specs recommended list of subs. I tried a search for his list but came up empty. I'll try some different options.

The Servo-15 is my sub of choice, I've heard none better. The only drawbacks (none are performace related) is that for a decent finish, it's more money and the crossover is an extra item (at 150 bones) but still, you can still spend more and get less. A friend of mine has one and I'm still considering a smash and grab.

    Troy,

That's cool that you like the Servo 15 too. Actually, I have an opportunity to trade-in my Paradigm Studio 40s back to my Paradigm dealer since I chose the LSi over them and get a sub whether it be the Servo 15 (which is kind of pricey) or a 2200 and just pay the difference.

Just curious as to what subs you can compare it to that you have heard. Once again I'm trying to rely on the ears of others for opinions.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Okay found Dr. Specs post from a few months ago:
The SVS cylinder footprint is only about 18" in diameter. Or you can look at the SVS box sub (line-up soon to be expanded) or any other quality cylinder or box subs, but most of them will be at least that large. Other excellent subs are:

    HSU VTF-3 or TN1220HO
    Paradigm 2200 or Servo 15
VMPS Larger with heavy duty driver upgrade
Klipsch RSW 15 (caveat - badly lacks extension below 30 Hz, othewise excellent)
    Velodyne HGSII 15 or 18
Any sub in your price range built by Acoustic Visions
Any sub in your price range built by Stryke Audio

I'll admit that my experience with subs is probably not nearly as extensive as others, I certainly not demoed thousands of them, but I've heard subs from Boston, B&W, Klipsch, Polk, all of the P-dime subs, Rel, ML, Velo and so forth (no SVS or Hsu) and the Servo-15 is without peer in terms of amount and quality of bass. I find it as musical as any sub you could find, IMO.

Yep - that's my quote and I'm sticking to it! Servo 15 = thumbs up.

If you lived in Canada, it would almost be a no-brainer. In fact SVS often recommends the Servo-15 when money is a huge factor and you look at the import fees of a competitive SVS (or any other American sub for that matter).

But you live in Michigan, so your choices are much broader.
