Help! There's a Poltergeist in my cable box!

Every time I get up from my couch while watching something on cable I lose the picture and it returns in about three seconds. I've tried to recreate the issue by jiggling wires, jumping up and down, banging on the side of the box, but nothing happens until I leave the couch for a pee break. Never happens while watching a blu-ray. Is my box haunted??? Or do I need an airhole?

This is definitely a new one but I can tell you there's a lot of issues with Sharp TVs when hooked up HDMI to cable boxes. I would hook it up Component Video and see if the issue persists... And the HDMI issues only get worse if you ever do switching through a receiver. No matter how nice Sharp is on the picture, the software seems to be troublesome.
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

Try turinng on the the Reciever, then the TV then the cable box in that order. I have noticed sometimes if I do not follow this order, the signal will flash until I turn off the cable box and then turn it back on.

If they are all hooked to one remote, try to turn them on separately in the order listed to see if that cures the issue.
May not be the same in your case, but may be worth a try.

I had the same problem with my old TV, a Samsung LCD. It's JUST when I get off the couch! Keiko, if I did do drugs at least that might explain it!
