Can I vent? Whiney 'gon customer

So, I put my AQ Columbias up on the 'gon and agreed to come down on my already low price (compared to other prices for the same cables).

We work a deal where I get a money order and then the cables go out.

Buyer wants the original box and since it won't fit in a flat rate Priority Deliver box we agree to ship it Parcel Post (7-10 days delivery) and I told him that - he wanted to scrape his pennies...ok.....

I get his money order on Friday, and ship the cables the same day with Tracking Confirmation.

Then the emails begin.

On Monday, he complains that he doesn't have his cables...duh...Parcel Post...just like we agreed.

Then more whiney emails about the tracking number is bogus...no...just checked it...positive confirmation of processing and shipping to his local.

Then an email saying that he's going to report me to audiogon since he doesn't have his cables yet....duh again....Parcel Post with expected delivery March 11.

Grrr...arrgghh....

It's your fault for giving him a good price and doing what you said you would do. What were you thinking?

I've found that sometimes USPS Tracking Numbers for non-express items don't show up on usps.com until the day they are scanned into the destination Zip Code Post Office.

Arguing with an idiot will only cause problems.

Just calmly explain to your buyer that you've have done everything just right, and how sweet his rig will sound when they arrive at the end of the week

Oh, wow, I see you got burned while I was typing.

Is there an appeal process at Audiogon? Can the buyer remove it?

It may take $10 or so that you certainly don't want to refund, but if you plan to sell more in the future on A'gon, it may be worth the price to bite the bullet on this one.

Dang, I know when we've traded here you are an up front and great buyer/seller. This sucks.

    I've noticed that too.

Confirmation shows the box is in his home state and enroute for a precise 7 day Parcel Post delivery.

I wonder if its possible to get negative feedback removed?

    That's a real bummer.

The few things I've sold and bought have translated into great transactions. I guess the odds will ultimately fall on all of us.

Never needed to try it, but I'm assuming you already found the Audiogon Dispute Resolution System.

Sounds like he is definitely a mental case. Karma must really be bad on his shoulders all the time!

Searched Agon & found your listing. Checked your userID & don't see neg FB. Never had to deal with neg FB on Agon. Anyway, usually FB has to be approved by the other party before posting. Did you do that or dispute it? I'm just curious more than anything. Oh, & the buyer is an unrealistic **** with his head up is butt if you ask me...

Well, maybe he realized that he was way impatient on delivery and asked it be removed.

I hadn't checked my email yesterday until later in the afternoon and there was a whole string of one sided impatient and accusatory messages leading up to the NF- claiming I gave a bogus confirm # and I had his money.

    Geez....

Hey, I want my original box too now!!!!

I just had to go through the resolution process to have negative feedback removed from a buyer that was upset that his pending sale got bumped by the buy it now feature. Not sure how someone who wasn't a buyer through the process can even leave feedback.

Well, I learned a couple of things:
    * camp next to my email account so I can babysit buyer inquiries
    * constantly check the delivery status myself and instantly send an update to the buyer
    * get email confirmation from the buyer that they understand what the different postage rates mean for delivery times.

or, only buy/sell with Polkies!

I was given a tracking number on Thursday from a guy that still doesn't work for Fedex. Maybe I should FREAK out on him and demand that the package is here today or otherwise I'm leaving negative feedback.

Seriously what is wrong with this dude. Some people are just plain dumb if you ask me about shipping times etc.

Also I love when you tell them something and it seems like it goes right over their head with some gon buyers. Such as I will have to wait for the check to clear and yet the same day that they send the check demand you send the item.....yeahhh didn't even deposit it yet, so I'm just soo sure its going to clear.

One thing to remember is that no matter what the buyer says, he/she expects instant delivery. I've found USPS Prority Mail and UPS Ground to be be not much more expensive, lightning quick and much more readily trackable.

For what it's worth (2 cents ) In my business we ship up to 100 packages per week, and generally just pay up for faster shipment no matter what the customer chooses at checkout.

Well, because the original AQ box would not fit in any flat rate Priority box, when I checked postage for the box I did find that fit, Priority was about $30 more than parcel post - so we agreed on Parcel Post. I wasn't going to eat $30 after taking a hit on his offer price (which, was a low ball offer that within about 2 hrs emailed me back with a higher offer cuz he felt 'guilty'.)

I just want him to get his box so I can bury this whole experience.

I actually avoid ebay and prefer audiogon. Just shows how everyone has different experiences on both sites. Dealing here is much preferred by most thou. I just feel that ebay fees have gotten extremely high.

well you don't have to use a priority box to ship priority.. if you can't fit it in a available priority box then just buy a box from Office depot and then ship it priority you'll find out its a lot cheaper b/c the boxes they have in the Post office are almost always the flat rate boxes.
If you ship fairly often you can order bulk priority boxes off of the USPS website for free, just make sure you are getting the non flat rate boxes. they have all shapes and sizes on the USPS website and is generally cheaper to use those boxes than using the flat rates. I currently have about 40 boxes of two different sizes that I ordered from USPS and they work perfectly and didn't cost a thing.
I think the flat rate boxes are only worthwhile, if you have really dense objects that weight alot..
