What should I do with my M30's?

Over the past 12 months or so I completed a major rehaul of my main system. Before then I was using M30's as my fronts, but now have high end deftech all around... I thought this would be the perfect place to start when asking what to do with the old M30's.

I had a 7.1 RM system (RM8 center and surrounds, RM7 Sides) in the bedroom, but just aqcuired a really high end satillite system for free that has moved the RM's to my "man cave" (despised typing that).

I'm attempting to get rid of a ton of clutter and selling off old equipment. Do you think that the M30 would blend well and play nice with the RM's or should I sell them? It's 5.1 in here and I don't intend on getting another receiver anytime soon, so I'll have at least 4 extra speakers (2-4 RM's and possibly the M30's...) to add to my massive unused speaker collection.

The one thing that leans me towards keeping the M30's is the high resale value of the RM's right now. What would you guys do?

He means Club Polk Karma. You give something away you don't use/have room for, usually make everyone pick a number and a lucky member gets it. It's in the clubhouse section.

...the high resale value of the RM's right now.
What leads you to such conclusion? RMs, high resale value  Those packages go for next to nothing brand new these days...

From watching sales on ebay, I could get a nice grab on the RM8's... at least a bit more than the M30's...

Ebay is not a good source for finding out the value of anything,, as one day a set of speakers could go for $150,, the next day, the same speakers, could only fetch $60,, I learned this as a seller on there for many years, just depends on who is looking at the item, and how bad they want it, or how much there willing to spend, changes on a daily basis,
Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.

While I realize the M series is not top of the line and can be had for cheap nowadays, it somewhat surprises me the RM8s would go for more on the used as they can too be had for cheap brand new nowadays. Most big box stores and online providers nearly gives them away. What thesurfer is saying below is a sound advice for pricing your speakers. As an example, I tried to sell mint (could be considered new but the fact they were bought and box opened) RM10s (which I would IMHO consider of better value than the 8s) unsuccessfully. What you have to consider for pricing your speakers is not so much the asking price but rather the successfull sale for any asking price.

I completely understand both of your concerns and sell on ebay - but as with any asset, market price is defined by what people are willing to pay for the item. Currently I feel, from doing a bit of research, that the "market price" of a pair of RM8's is greater than the M30's - which, by the way, can also be fetched for nearly nothing on many websites.

Another thing to consider is the opportunity cost associated with each sale. Being that I would be able to package a set of RM8's into a flat rate box for about $10 (which as a bonus is an expedited service) makes them somewhat more appealing than figuring out parcel post shipping and actually having to enter the post office for the M30's.

With a bit of persistence and patience I'm guessing I would get something close to my asking price for either speaker.

This has gotten a bit off subject though, I was really wondering on which set you would keep... I guess I shouldn't have thrown that last line in my original post hah.

Ah! Seen this way it makes a lot of sense. Not counting that to a younger crowd/generation a satellit speaker would unfortunately be more appealing.

An important factor would be what YOU would prefer to keep but otherwise if all equal your abovr statement basically answers your own question. For a quick sale, the least expensive and trouble would be the best answer (not counting less chances of damage during transit/transport.
