Monitor70's Very surprised!
Well i hooked up a friend who is setting up his first system yesterday. His prior was a a cheapie HTB Samsung setup. I had him pick up a set of Monitor 70's from Newegg. They had them for $179 apiece. Boy did my eyes open when I heard them for the first time. Set flat, they totally rocked. Surprisingly, bass was tight. Jim could not get the smile off his face. I loaned him a cheap Sony 2 channel receiver. If they sounded that good on that piece of junk, I can't wait till he picks up his Onkyo 707. I have heard Monitors in the past, but not the 70's. You can't bet them for $350 a pair. I also had him pick up a CSi3. Crutchfield had them for $129. I think I have created another Polkie.

I am also very impressed and happy with the M70's. Just picked up the 70's and a CS2 in perfect condition off Craigslist for $300. When I saw the posting my jaw hit the desk.
Quite an upgrade from my rather old RT400 mains and CS245 center. Running everything with an Onkyo SR-608 and have a new BIC PL200 sub on order.
I see many happy years of music and movies with these speakers. Have loved Polk speakers since I first heard them in high school. -
