    But I guess my point is that you can't measure a cable by sight. My analogy was the the cable you think "looks" good might really be "leaky", electrically/electronically speaking.

    As I've posted in many a cable/wire thread, I don't believe we yet have the tools to measure all of the things needed to determine why one cable presents a lower noise floor or more focused instruments / vocals to the listener sitting in his easy chair.

    Just a few decades ago we didn't know what a quark was, teaching in the finest universities that the electron was the smallest particle in the universe. We now know of 6 discrete types of quarks. Do we really know what goes on at the sub-atomic level when current flows through that cable? Probably not exactly, but my ears can ferret out some differences between cables.

    Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D
