SWEET... too bad they can't get rid of that hard plastic bath tub of an interior. Exterior wise, that car is beyond gorgeous.
-
Jeezus, does it come stock with a trailer hitch for my 5th-wheel!?!
-
Bath tub interior??? have you sat in one??? I love the feel of the cockpit. I sat in the Mustang and the Chalenger and I felt right at home in the Camaro!!
-
They will never have a factory Camaro have more power than the Corvette.
They vette folks bitched a fit when the Caddy and the GTO had darn near vette power. -

I never understood that. I love the Vette's as well. well most years anyway some years looked like clown cars with lots of power..
The 2011 ZO6 is freaking SWEEEEEETTT!!!!
Oh and just because the Camaro will never have FACTORY POWER of the Vette doesn't mean the Camaro is a bad car to have,,, ; ) -

MRC = magnetic ride control. From the Corvette and Cadillac STS.
Basically instead of air shocks it has shocks filled with magnetic fluid whose viscosity changes depending on how much electric charge is applied to it. Varying the electric charge will change how stiff the suspension is.Main Surround -

I love the throwback to the ZL1. Great heritage to draw on there.
I really hope it can live up to it.George Grand wrote: »

I want to someday put an LS in place of my LT1 in my Caprice wagon. The LS3 has 400 some horse and even more torque, all at an average of 23mpg. I already have Mustang's with stock 5.0's that cannot keep up. And newer Mustangs with Flowmasters or whatever that state my exhaust sounds better than theirs, and leave with the heads hung low or ordering their own Cherry Bomb Vortex mufflers like I have, also rated @ 578 CFM, with 3" pipe a 598 CFM rating. Nice rumble on the woodie wagon (not too redneck) until you get on it, then it sounds like a Vette wagon (Nomad wannabe) The 94-96 wagons came with the LT1 like the SS and police cruisers, but cheaper. LS swap someday.Onkyo TX-NR636

What is there to complain about??? Just curious?? -
apparently he is not a fan of the handling. The Carmaro SS's suspension can be a little billowy from the factory, they did that on purpose for ride comfort, but some aftermarket parts and the 3800+lb camaro can handle pretty darn well.
Actually the Mustang suffers the same stigma. when the 05 came out, everyone lamented that they still use a solid axle. sure it has issues, but with the right parts you's be surprised what they can do in the turns.
Anyone notice the new 2011 v6 Mustang beats the top of the line hyundai Genesis in Car and Drivers Lightening lap challenge? Thats with a 115 mph speed governor to (can;'t explain why they do that)
I have a feeling that ZL1 is going to put up some surprising handling numbers when they track test it. Those magnetic shocks are no joke.
these pony cars handle well from the factory, and with the aftermarket can be made to handle like they are on rails.Living Room 2 Channel -

my complaint about the Camaro? visibility, the front window is like a frikkin tank turret site. I have more visibility sitting in a C6 vette for god's sake!!!
awesome car otherwise.Living Room 2 Channel -

i would have a hard time dropping tons of money into a car that still has a solid rear axle. going from 0-60 in the blink of an eye is cool, but when you gotta slow down to a small creep to make a turn on a curvey road, it starts to become a bit bittersweet for me. plain and simple, the camaro is NOT competition for the corvette, no matter what HP it has, the corvette wasnt built as a straight line car, but they do "ok" in straight lines. now, the zr1 vette, i'd **** in its tailpipe anytime i was given the chance. this isnt "car bashing", its just as my own personal preference, hell im not even a domestic guy, but GM and Ford need to lose the solid axles and realize that there are more auto-x courses now than straight line tracks.
just sayin.

if they bring the z28 name back, it should have the hyper 302..bring the price point into a more realistic area..then compete w the 5.0
-
camaro and 302 havent been seen together since what, the early 70's? if not late 60's? i dont think gm knows how to build anything under 327ci anymore unless its an econobox lol

69 actually it could be done and not with too much difficulty..camaro needs to lose some weight, get the high-strung small block and get the handling sorted out..away from every day folks to street racers and auto crossers

I agree with most of what you say but nobody said Camaro was in competition with the Corvette,That is just silly!!! Hell when I went looking at the Camaro's, one dealership had a Z06 on the showroom floor and just looking at it it made the Camaro look like a toy!!! but they are two different animals and two different price points and for good reason!!!
IMHO I am just glad Chevy,Ford, and Chrysler are doing what they are doing right now, and that is we have some good looking cars hitting the streets at all price points for this so called modern day Muscle Car Era!!!
There has always been compitition between the big three but nothing like the late 60's and early 70's and this is as close as we will see it, and it's only to get better!!! -
they are two different beasts. and sry gm, your mono-leaf spring in the ****-end of the vette is still not an amazing design either. ive heard comments on the camaro being "better" than the vette bc its faster than the base vette. my arguement? when the camaro spins out keeping up with the "slower" vette around that loop on the interstate, well, there's your proof lol.
and i will still take my econobox honda over either one of those just for price-point lol

I personally didn't like the layout, mainly due to the hard plastic and minimalistic design overall. I was never a fan of the late 60's early 70's gauge clusters, that is the one part of the throwback design that I didn't really appreciate. Again, exterior wise it is grand slam along with the motor. -

oh sweet, good to see they got that straightened out. wonder how much abuse it could really withstand lol. if its a similar design to the vette, im sure it does fine then

i ran anywhere from fifty to a 150 shot on my old civic coupe. on a 125 shot i was able to pull a 12.5 @ 117 out of it with a 2.0 60' lol, i had traction issues to say the least.
but i just ran a cheap zex kit taken off an evo
