East coasters get ready for some serious snow, it's coming

They should play all Super Bowls outdoors in northern cities.

I wanna know what "weather reports" you're looking at Al. I just looked at NOAA and this is what they said for my area, Southern NJ, about as East Coast as it gets:
This Afternoon: Sunny early, then becoming partly sunny, with a high near 23. South wind between 3 and 5 mph.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph.
Tuesday Night: A chance of snow after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. North wind between 3 and 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Wednesday: Rain and snow likely before 10am, then snow likely between 10am and 1pm, then rain after 1pm. High near 38. Northeast wind between 6 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night: Rain before 10pm, then snow. Low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 36.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38.
Saturday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Sunday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
It'll probably be worse up north but the majority of the East Coast is south of me andwe aren't in for any kind of walloping so far as I can see.
Of course that will probably change as thee week goes on but right now, it's not looking too impressive.
Then again, NOAA doesn't rely on ratings to keep "predicting" weather and they rarely preach the doom and gloom that the networks do.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

If the NFL could make more money playing the Super Bowls in Northern cities, they would have been doing that a long time agoGears shared to both living room & bedroom:

A little farther North but closer to the Coast, here.
-15 to -20. The lowest temps I've ever seen were close to -40 (-37). Now that's COLD! But that was in the mid-1990s.
-15 or so in Maine is not anything unusual in Jan/Feb. You expect a couple of weeks of nasty nights. So for you warm weather boys in Jersey and Pa., I feel for you....because that's where I am from! It's taken me a while to adjust to snow that never MELTS! But to tell you the truth--we're really not getting our NORMAL snowfalls up here. They're lighter and fewer.
Again, we don't consider anything less than 6" snowfall in the North. And 6-8" is a drive-able workday!
A friend of mine is down at Emory U in Atlanta....where there's been some snow. He used to teach up here with me, and went to school at Michigan State...so I'm sure he's amused by the Big Snows and Cold of Georgia.
It's all relative, of course, because there are our Canadian Brethren above!

I tried clicking my heals together three times and I am still not in GA or Ft Lauderdale. We got friggen 25"s of the crap here. I am down in a hole so it tends to drift here. The **** is that when shoveling I have to toss the stuff up over 5 feet in the air to get over the banks from previous snow storms. I broke too many bones in my back and neck for this crap.

I feel for ya! Just for HA HA's, i measured the height of the mounds towards the bottom of the driveway and they are just over 7.5 feet tall. It's like throwing snow over a school bus over and over.
Todays priority.....get parts to finally finish snowblower repair!!:mad:Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -

There's a phantom snowblower that has done my driveway for the last storm. If he would make himself known, i have a case of beer for him.
Guess i'll have to drink it myself.Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
Snowblowers are a wonderful thing.

We've somehow ducked most of these storms this year in central VA. We got about 2 inches of slush last night and most of it is gone today. I'm pleasantly surprised; we got hammered last year...2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ
