Missile Command... Asteroids... RCT - The Movie?

Let's see... game based movies with characters all bombed, so-o-o-o the HW braintrust figures games with no characters will do better???

That's why they get the big bucks...

How the hell do you make a movie out of Missile Command? It basically had no plot line whatsoever... It's a fun game(in fact I still have an Atari with around 50 different games, including Missile Command)...but it was essentially a mindless "blow-em-up" kinda game.

As long as they don't choose another sappy buffoon of a hero/main character and have plots you can shoot ICBM's through, they should be fine. If they want to get creative, they could turn a basically no-plot game into a heavily plotted movie. I'd actually like if they had the main character be seen as an antihero and is revealed to be the villain.

Now only if they made Burgertime the movie (I know its not really of this genre). Being crushed by giant burger ingredients with a cameo by Marlon Brandon uttering "the horror". I think this would be something so bad it might be funny.

Paperboy could be a "funny violent" type movie.

Qbert would probably be pretty good for a 3D film (though I haven't a clue what the movie would actually be about.)

I guess film makers are running out of intelligent ideas for new movies. Has everything really been covered yet so that they no longer know what to do?

    Hollywood... we have a plotline...

There is a debate over which was the first video arcade game. Pong was the first CRT game I saw/ played, so it must have been first.

Pong's biggest design flaw??? The box that caught the quarters was too small.

Nolan Bushnell, who founded Atari, had a hand in creating both Computer Space and Pong with technology shared between the two. Computer Space was the first commercially available coin-op game in 1971. Pong followed soon after in 1972.

Although Pong seems to have been much more popular with so many remembering this game as their first...

FYI - I was at Target last night and they are selling a retro Atari controller that is plug and play with 20 (I think) original games. It was on closeout for 5 bucks. Now that I think of this I should have bought one.
