    Well...what's your budget?

It's not exactly apples to apples when comparing the 3, though I'd most likely steer torwards System #3 and opt for a different amplifier than an Emotiva. That and I'd probably grab a Pioneer AVR instead (personal choice).

    So, again what's your budget?

System #1 would be the most economical and won't require an external amp though I'd suggest grabbing Monitor series speakers when on sale from Newegg.

That or I'd suggest purchasing some Polk refurb's from their Ebay store. Buyers swear the refurbs are as good as NEW, and they're still covered by factory warranty.

Oh and another thing, if you're going with the RTiA's I'd suggest a bigger/badder subwoofer to keep up.

Not saying the PSW505 is a slouch, but you'll want something that digs deep. Check out SVS, HSU Research and Epik subwoofers for your subwoofer needs

Welcome, since you only want to do this once and then enjoy it for years, go for option 3This setup will give you pleasure for years to come, you speakers will be operating to their full potential thanks to the amp. If you want to, switch out the RTi a3, for the FXi a4 speakers. And also think about upgrading your sub to a DSW 400 or 500.

For primarily music.....none of the above. You should consider an LSI system or SDA's.
A budget and room size would help.

If I had to choose, and using it for music I'd pick #2. I've heard both the A5's and A7's and feel the A5's are more musical, as Frizz suggested look at the DSW 500 for a sub.

You've pretty much answered your own question. If you don't want to spend the money for the surrounds, don't do it. I think setup 3 is the best bet however. Also, have you tried multi channel surround for music?
    Main Surround -
    Epson 8350 Projector/ Elite Screens 120" / Pioneer Elite SC-35 / Sunfire Signature / Focal Chorus 716s / Focal Chorus CC / Polk MC80 / Polk PSW150 sub

    Bedroom - Sharp Aquos 70" 650 / Pioneer SC-1222k / Polk RT-55 / Polk CS-250

    Den - Rotel RSP-1068 / Threshold CAS-2 / Boston VR-M60 / BDP-05FD

Welcome to Club Polk geraban19

I agree with the above from Freddy. You seem to be budget concerned which is fine (can you elaborate on a specifc amount?). Freddy has suggested the Monitor series when on sale would definitely be your best bang for the buck. The PSW505 would definitely be a good match with them. I too agree with Pioneer over any Onkyo receiver however, this is a personal opinion/preference and somewhat subjective.

You mention you do not care much for a killer HT set-up as your main goal/desire is a good set-up for music so why an AVR and center? Why not focusing on a good 2 channels set-up? IE: Monitor 70s and possibly a Harmon Kardon such as the HK3490? You would save some money, you focus your budget on better 2 channel gear and don't forget you still can watch the odd movies with quite decent results as with proper placement of your speakers you would create a phantom center for the HT experience...
