Does anyone have any insight to the T15's? I am looking for a decent pair of surround speakers to replace what I have. How do these compare or do you have other suggestions?

What speakers do you have now? The t15's are just "ok", really nothing special.

I am totally revamping my HT. I have a a pair of M50's as my fronts and a scs250 as my center. If not the t15's then what would you suggest for my backs?

I'm not familiar with that center channel, but I would suggest replacing the center with something that might be a closer timber match, such as the CS10 or CS 20. For surrounds the Tsi 100 or 200 would be a good match.

The proper center channel match for the T15 (and R15/R30/R50) is a CSi25 or CSM. I have the CSM in my system with R50 fronts and 4xT15 surrounds and it blends perfectly.

The CSM is a 4 ohm nominal speaker which is why it isn't around anymore. It might match the t15's in sound, because they sound like crap.

    Thanks for the (un)helpful response.

My CSM is labeled as 8-ohm compatible and works perfect with my Denon AVR-788 integrated receiver that is rated for only 8-ohm or higher loads.
It might match the t15's in sound, because they sound like crap.
You are welcome to your opinion, but don't state it like it is fact. I only use the T15's for my surround speakers, however, they sound quite good to me. I believe that they are a decent value for the price they sell for. They are no LSI's, but they are also 1/10th the price.

That being said, I realize that I misread your posts mr_concrete_1, and I apologize for that. It seems that you are actually wanting a matching center for the Monitor 50's. The CS1 or CS2 would be the best match for your Monitor 50's. However, as mentioned the CS10 and CS20 would also be very close matches and are current models.

As for surrounds, if you wanted the best match to the Monitor 50's, I recommend the Monitor 30 or 40. A very close match would be the TSi100 or TSi200. However, matching the surrounds to the front speakers aren't quite as crucial as matching the front three. As such, you may very well be happy with the T15's for your surround speakers.

When you talk about "matching" speakers are you referring to the appearance or the sound quality? The spaekers having the same appearance, other than being black, doesnt mean as much to me as the sound quality working with each other. Since my first post the RM8's have caught my eye. Does anyone know anything about them?

Also I had mistyped the model of my center, it is the cs250s.

I am talking about timbre matching (or voice matching), so "sound quality" is what I am referring to. The RM8's will not match your Monitor 50's any better than the T15's, likely worse.

Mr. Concrete, you might want to consider the Monitor 30's offering on Newegg.com: $79.99 plus $2.99 for shipping .

    $82.98 total.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=%22polk+audio+monitor30%22

You ABSOLUTELY won't go wrong on that deal. It is a no brainer, In my opinion.

The black Monitor 30's are sold out, the above price is for a set in cherry.

So ... log off here and go buy 'em.

BTW: I don't have any experience with the T15's, but do have with the R15's.
R15 and T15 are equivalent speakers. They are okay speakers and are okay for surrounds but ..... if you keep reading this post and don't logoff and go order those Monitor 30's from Newegg for $82.99 I'll be forced to severely thrash you.

    ....... in a non-violent, non-harmful, keeping-with-Polk's-policy manner.

Heck, being as I'm spending YOUR money  :

Newegg also has the Monitor 40's ( in both cherry and black ) for $109.99 plus $2.99 shipping for the PAIR.

    Total = $112.98

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=polk+audio+monitor40

I'm not sure what kind of room you have for placement, but .....

Monitor 30's as back surrounds, and Monitor 40's as side surrounds, with R50's as fronts is ..... definitely liveable and works great for Home Theater.
    (see my sig)

The 40's would be overkill, IMO, for back surrounds; the 30's are Sweeeeet for back surrounds for Home Theater.

Okay ..... I've got another way to spend your money, also :smile: :

Newegg has the CS2 center in cherry on sale (black isn't) for $99.99 plus $2.99 for shipping.

    Total = $102.98

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=polk+audio+cs2

Will work well with your R50's ..... and possible Monitor 30's ..... and possible Monitor 40's.

If you did go whole hog, so to speak, that would come to a total of $298.94 delivered for a CS2, Monitor 30's, and Monitor 40's. Not a bad deal at all and very satisfying for home theater.

But, as always, get what you can with the money you got, and be happy with what you get. It's all good.

Hi guys, my first post on here. Not to hijack this thread but I am in a similar situation. I bought some T15's for a good deal last week, I was planning on using them with my newly acquired CS10 center for Front LR (Space/wife Issues this is about as big as I can get) and for surrounds.

I was pretty excited at first because I knew these had to sound better than my 6 year old JBL HTIB. But here is my predicament, I went to BB and sound tested the T15's next to the Tsi100's and the latter sounded so much better in my opinion, but I don't know if they sound $150 better.

So my question, is do monitor 30s sound as good as the tsi100s or would I be better off spending the extra 150 and getting the tsi100 to match the cs10 and just use the purchased t15's for surrounds?

    Thanks for any insight!
