Well my system smelled money

Went to sit down and enjoy a concert dvd tonight, after some glitching from scratches I took the disk out to try to buff out some scratches. After doing that and placing the disk back in, the motor crapped out on the BR player.

Must of heard that I just got 250 bestbuy bucks from when my dad bought his new tv.

So with that said I have 250 bestbuy bucks, whats a good BR player, make note that I want to try to get it at my small local best buy which does not have a large selection. If something is worth getting I will make the trip else were.

Well the insignia ALMOST lasted a year. :biggrin:

let me make bernal smile and suggest the OppO BDP-83, for a big budget stretch but better sounding the BDP-83SE.

does the new ps3 not play sacd?..i havent tried with mine...or you could try to snag a sony 1000es they had on clearance for $100...it was a $700 player last year and top rated

Wish I could do the OppO BDP-83 but all I have is Bestbuy cash, would like to go get one today as well.

PS3 would be my first choice after that pretty much anything from LG, Sony, Panny all make great players.

There are so many to choice from. Just depends on what features you want it to have, like netflix, wifi, etc..

I have no advise on BR but would be interested in knowing what you end up with and how it works. I too am considering a BR player in the same price range.
In regards to the quote. I thinks audio systems and wives are a lot alike.(in more ways than one)but In the manner of that my wife always seems to "sense" when I have some "secret" money and am wanting to purchase something new,. I guess I need to work on my poker face.

Some BB have the Pioneer's on clearance. I have both the 23fd & 05fd and I am really happy with both.

Ws over at a larger one today they had two denon BR players for about 110 on clearance might go grab one tomorrow. I think they were the 1610's

Well today I was in Best Buy just killing time when I saw on clearance a Denon DBP-1610 marked down from 400 to 140 so I grabbed it. Might not be the best one but I think its a great player I do hear the better clarity. I need to get the remote programed so I can control it and upgrade it, as it did not come with one.

It was only $99 bucks. Bought one and actually ended up giving it away.

Did not read about that, but my new one is pretty sweet in the way that I like it
