(2) Pairs of IC's of Varying Quality Placement in Rig

I've wondered if this mattered, or if it's more of a "only as strong as the weakest link" type thing. I assume that the better pair should go between the preamp and amp, as that pair would be carrying more info, plus a little power. What do you think?

    I also put my "better" pair of ICs further up the chain of components. Does it make a difference? I'm not sure at the signal passes through both sets of ICs anyway, but I guess we are all just weird like that...
