BDP-51FD: 'Function not available' for multi-ch. out?

Back when that lightning bolt took out my tv, I fried the hdmi out on my rcvr. Soooo, I figured I would use the components out, and the multi-ch. out as well, for BRD's. No luck:mad: It's stuck in 2 ch., and 'function not available' message:mad:
I could use the optic out, but it doesn't sound as good as hdmi, and that wont do the codec for BRD's(or so I've been told)
And yes, it has the most recent version-1.37.

I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

Probably not what you're wanting to do but why not use the multichannel analog outs? You'll be able to receie the new codecs since they're not output via optical/coaxial.

Thanks, but I just figured it out. I did NOT have 7.1 selected on the disc, and there was a setting not right in the audio menu.

That's what I was concerned with. I could NOT get the analog outs to work, but I got it figured out eventuallyI refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
