NFL Preseason is just about at the half way point, who's going to the Super Bowl?

Since HOF week and Week 1 are in the bag, week 2 starts tomorrow so that's just at the half way point.
And yeah, I know, can't predict the Super Bowl. It's tongue-in-cheek.
Just thought it'd be some good discussion.
So how's you're team looking? Good? Bad? Better than you thought? Worse?
Dallas is disappointing again. Offense looks like No.1 on paper but fails miserably on the field. The defense is impressive. Lotsa depth, good coverage and the ends are harassing the opponent QB's on most plays. Very good pressure and they keep it up the entire game. Some of the younger players are making rookie mistakes but they aren't doing badly. I'd put the defense probably in the top 10 if not the top 5.
I'm also a little unimpressed by the Jets. All the talk, all the talent and they just played like last year. Hopefully it's just shaking the off-season dust off and we see more impressive stuff from them.
The Giants showed a punishing and stifling defense but, I have a feeling that Eli's tantrum is indicative of last year where he'll "lose the mojo" around week 7 and tank the entire season by losing 6 of the last 10 games.
I haven't really seen any other team play so I can't comment.

Football sucks. I don't care about it at all.
That being said, it's a GREAT excuse to drink too much beer with my football loving friends, so I am looking forward to that!:D
I was raised a skins fan; are they any good this year? I remember when they were good in the late 80's early 90's.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

I missed the Eli tantrum, but saw he had to have a few stitches...
My Colts look good as usual on offense, they never seem to miss a beat. But their defense didn't look very good, and you aren't going far in the playoffs with taht defense, seriously, giving up that many points to the 49ers??? Not good -
GO RAIDERS!!!
if Favre really comes back, i say the Vikingsmole' -
The ONLY thing that stopped the Colts last year was having NO rushing game at all. Last in the league. From what I've seen I'm not sure anything is going to change there.
Defense is fine. Could be better but I'm betting it's going to be better than last season under Larry Coyle. Without a running game Peyton will get beat up and miss a few games this year. Yep, you heard it here first. NO back up QB either. Painter is an "Aint'er". He's been a total disaster for the Colts.
Vikes 'ain't got it yet, QB??, Killer D up front but...CLOSER
Giants? Nope. "D" has a lot of holes since their SB run.
Saints? Yep. IF they're still hungry they'll do fine. They'll probably be content to wear the rings for a year or two though.
Pats? Unknown. Lots of "Musical chairs" on defense again. O-Line is "holey"
Cardinals? Injuries stopped them last year. Could be a contender.
Jets? Lots of mouth from their Fat coach. If they're as good as Ryan is obnoxious they'll not lose a game.
Pack could be a sleeper with some consistency but I think they're still a bit behind the Vikes.
Bears, I'm ashamed to be a fan.
No one is standing out in my mind right now.
I guess I'm thinking out loud and haven't a clue. -

Actually, their defense looks like Number 1 in the NFC right now. Then again, real season vs pre-season D is a big difference. They really were a big let down halfway through the season last year. Might shape up that way again this year if Eli gets in to his funk again.Cardinals? Injuries stopped them last year. Could be a contender.
Yeah but no more Warner and Leinart doesn't exactly have the greatest track record. i mean, he was the man in Arizona until "Washedup Warner" took his job a couple of years ago. Now he's back in the hot seat by default, not skill. Sad thing is, he has one of teh best rosters of offensive weapons laid out in front of him and I don't think he's going to be able to use them like Warner can/did.Jets? Lots of mouth from their Fat coach. If they're as good as Ryan is obnoxious they'll not lose a game.Pack could be a sleeper with some consistency but I think they're still a bit behind the Vikes.
I don't know. Favre is not what he once was. He has nagging injuries that affect him. He's old too. Rodgers has been doing real well and the Pack has a good roster. I think they are going to be a spoiler in the NFC North for the Vikings. The Lions are the same. Lotsa growth, lotsa maturity, they might spoil a wild card berth for the Vikings if the Vikings can't get the division. I think the wild card teams are going to have to be very impressive because the NFC East has some brutal teams, all of which are capable of a playoff berth.Bears, I'm ashamed to be a fan.
I wouldn't be. I think they are a dark horse in the NFC North. They might not make the playoffs this year but I think they are going to ruin more than a couple Sundays for their opponents this year. They are going to be the "any given Sunday" team and hand out a few black eyes I think.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

I think that's a better description for the Lions. But it's a little early and I'm definitely not very optimistic about the Bears this year. Could have something to do with my nightmare that is the Chicago Cubs.
The NFC east is just crazy though. I think any one of those teams would win the NFC west and contend in any division.
If I had to pick somebody know. It would be ummmmmm Indy over Green Bay. Seems to be pretty wide open right now though.Panny 55-st30 plasma

I for one hope they add another game to the regular season so we can have one less lame preseason game. Other than checking out new players or rookies on the team, they are worthless and boring for me to watch, and I have no clue why people (in pittsburgh at least) create a buzz for them.
And you really can't judge who is going to be a very good team by watching preseason games. (hell, you can't even try to judge that by the first few regular season games) Proof- What is the only team in NFL history to go 0-16? Detroit Lions. What was their record during the preseason? 4-0.AVR: H/K AVR240

I like the way ya thinks.
Notice not much talk about the Steelers?
The "ol man" Favre just keeps getting up. I'd hate to pay for his pain pill addiction when he finally does call it quits.
Detroit may be making progress but they're stil the Thanksgiving turkey.
I like the Ravens. They're close but a young QB and a couple of forgetful receivers aren't gonna cut it. They're NOT the defensive force to be reckoned with either like in days passed.
I don't know what the deal with Carolina is. Under achievers I guess.
Tennessee has the base and coaching. I don't know what's happening there either.
The Texans are getting close. They can be a spoiler but they haven't put it all together in any kind of stretch.
Jacksonville seems to make all the wrong moves or lady luck just isn't attracted to them at all.
Atlanta?? I don't know about them boys. Too many unknowns.
Philly? Lots of changes. D can be very good but offense screws the pooch too much. New "O" will be interesting. -

Hold on, before you answer, let me tell you - nothing. :D -

All right, I will indulge in the discussion a bit...
Should be a powerful, balanced, and unpredictable offense - unlike past years. Ray Rice is the real deal.
The defense won't be up to the standards of past years, but they'll only have to hold 'em to less than the "new look" O can put on the board. And, if they can solidify some semblance of a secondary (which has been absolutely riddled with injuries), the D might once again turn into a major force to be reckoned with. There was a time when the Baltimore D was more of a scoring threat than the O! -
with gm ( dimitroff) we got from patriots making good moves for the 2nd time in team history, dan reeves, an amazing guy and nfl unsung legend, from ice bowl to 5 super bowls etc. was the only other person before arthur blank took over team that gave us any cred.combine that guy maybe coming through with sleepers in this years draft, matt ryan maturing another year, and if we are on the right side of injurys and a few other teams are not, then,...........AHH NEVER MINDhumpty dumpty was pushed

Fins are looking good this year. We finally got a viable #1 reciever in Brandon Marshall, and our running game will be hell on wheels if Ronnie/Ricky stay healthy. I'm biased, but in my mind that's the best backfield in football. Henne looks SHARP in training camp this year, and I think we've finally found our long-term QB in him.
And I like our focus on defense in the draft this year. I think all but 1 pick was on the defense side, which will be a huge help in the next couple of years. I keep hearing good things about Misi early in camp, which is good. Dansby was a huge addition as well.
The AFC East is going to be a tough division to win, so I'll be impressed with the Fins if they do. Either way, it certainly looks like we're building for long-term success, which is nice.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

My Colts look absolutely horrendous on defense. Bob Sanders is back. Great, but they're playing worse than they did last year.
Obviously we'll see what happens when the real season starts, but if they continue playing like this the Colts won't do anything this year. Their defense has never been great, but I've not seem them play this poorly in a long time. -
Green Bay: 59
Colts: 24
...and should be 66 to 24. Preseason, but WTF? -
All I can do is hope for a good regular season, but if this keeps up the Colts won't break .500 this year. I think we saw tonight how the new umpire rule is really going to hurt some teams, and the Colts are easily going to be the most affected team.
The Colts always suck in preseason football, and I'm not sure why that is...the only thing going for me is that they usually turn it around and start playing well when it counts, but jeezus that defense is attrocious.... -
I going with a slight long shot,Lions vs Bills.;)

I read that the 49er's and ravens were teams to watch this year.. But, I am hoping my TITANS can be in the hunt this year. If the new faces on D can play solid and VY and CJ keep the O moving we could have a good year.. CJ said in a article in the TN newspaper hhis goal was 2500 yards this season. That will not happen. Opposing D's will lock on him more hopefully leaving VY to open up the air show.Troy_B.

Da Bears!
Fun reading this thread now. I'm totally conflicted on if the Bears should even show up Sunday for the Packer game. It would be awesome to eliminate the Packers but an injury to somebody important is terrifying.
Lots of good games this season. That Eagles vs. Giants game was epic. Hopefully lots more to come this last week and in the playoffs.
