Sarah McLachlan's new CD

Well, I'm a big fan of Sarah McLachlan and have several of her cd's. I was excited to hear that she just released Laws of Illusion just a couple months ago and snapped it up.
I have to say that I wasn't very impressed. There are a couple catch songs, but overall it fell flat to me. Sound quality wasn't there either.... sounded over-produced. It might be better after continued listening. Some cd's are like that. I'd give it a 2.5 stars out of 5.

Sarah is one of my faovorite artists...but the previews of the songs from this album were average at best. I had high hopes that it would be the equal of "Afterglow", which I like a lot, but it apears that may not be the case. I will still buy it and give it a shot, but I'm not going to get my hopes up for a "great" album. However, I like her enough that ok will probably be good enough."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

That's too bad, I like her too. I may pick it up if it's on special.

Yeah, Afterglow is my favorite as well, Plus the sonics on this cd are really good. Unfortunately, with all the Sarah CD's I have, most have mediocre sonics. -

Interesting...my view is the opposite. The CDs I have are excellent recordings IMO. In fact, for quite some time I used cuts off "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" as demo material."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Her new one is OK, worth the $9.99 at BB, but IMHO is not up to her past works. I think she needs to bring in some new song writing talent.DKG999

If you got the 3 cd set, 'The Freedom Sessions' is also a brilliant recording. 'Surfacing', is great too. But yeah her older stuff is much better. Still a big fan of hers though.
