I'm headed on vacation in a couple hours, be gone for two weeks. But if you're interested, remind me in about 2 1/2 weeks. I'll take apart an EMIM and an EMIT and send you some pictures of the innards.

That's cool!!! By all means! BTW: I am psyched to upgrade my monitor 5's. I have upgrade kits on the way for my klipsch forte II and KG4's.

That's great! I've been looking at some Forte's for quite some time. One of these days...

When I get back, send me a reminder private message.

I love the Mionitor 5's. After selling off my whole Polk lot last year, and thinking I'd never have any more, we had a Seattle Polk meet in Feb. I realized that I really I missed them, and now have 3 sets back in the place. What can I say? I love 'em.

I used stranded Oxygen free 14g I believe. If it gets too large it's hard to put in the pcb holes. Bought it from Parts Express in the black and red jacket for easy ID. No need to go crazy with the re-wire. Spend the money on the x-over parts. Fresh wire is always nice though, especially after 25+ years.

I was thinking awg 14 or awg16...since Bob Crites recommended awg16 for the Klipsch rebuilds I am doing this week.

I am going Solen/Mills for parts as receommended.

I may replace the inductors as well. I will not only provide a parts list, but a schematic for the 5A.

Inductors don't need to be changed. I would strongly recommend using a different brand cap for the high pass. Solens are certainly better than old stock parts but they tend to be grainy, forward and a tad harsh. I used Solen's for over a year and changed the high pass to a Clarity Cap PX last August and it's much smoother, more open and a little more laid back.

    In my experience of course.

yep--in fact an earlier post does recommend clarity...I WILL be using those for the smaller caps.
