Monitor 70 over the TSi500 (Don't like the highs)

I currently have Vintage Monitor 7c's with a PSW 111 sub. I love the Monitor 7's, but went to look at new speakers yesterday. I listened to the Monitor 60 (they didn't have the 70's) and compared them to the TSi500's. I did not care for the highs on the Monitor 60's and liked the TSi500's much better.
Do they use the same tweeters?
Anyone else do a similar comparison?
Should I find a place that has both the 70's and 500's to compare? (I think the tweeter are the same in the 60's and 70's)
Thanks,

Yes they use they same tweeters but the crossovers in the M70s are SIGNIFICANTLY different from the M60s and that does make a difference.
However if you like the TSI-500s just go with them...this is a VERY SUBJECTIVE call...it depends on the person, and the gear, etc.. To give an example, I run a Denon 1000 plus dollar AVR with an Adcom power amp of 200w/channel to the fronts....I've hooked up TSI-300s and M70s to it and I prefer the top end of the M70s! Go figure! And yes the TSI series all have the same tweeter. And though all TSIs are crossed over at 2500khz; the M-series are not standardized in this way.

I have both the Monitor 70's and the TSi 500's, and as cnh stated, it is a very subjective matter as to which one sounds better. I personally like the 70's better and that is why my 500's are pulling surround duty. Not to say the 500's aren't good, because they are, I just prefer my 70's. Also, since you already have the CS2 center I would go with the 70's for that reason as well, I had the 500's up front for a while and I did not care for the way my 500's and CS2 did not play well together. The most important part of course is cost, the 70's can be had for $439.98 a pair at Newegg, while the TSi 500's will runn you $798 a pair at Neweeg. For the prices the 70's can be had for these days, they are hard to beat, IMHO. Welcome to Club Polk, and good luck.
