  • So Schatzi. How many channels of B&K power do you have? I gather you’re looking to add 7 (X 200WPC) more. I greatly favor your plenty of power through multiple channels approach. Also how much space are you pressurizing w/all that power &…
  • Can I assume “background noise” is “noisy” vinyl? I have quite a few, bought in the ‘80s, pressings from the likes of MFSL, Nautilus, Telarc, & some Japanese virgin vinyl. All are CD quiet until the magic, er, music emerges... That is unles…
  • The Big “E!” Certainly one of best.
  • Earlier this thread slid into the gutter. I’ve re-read every post. I think you haven’t tried just the CC or the CC and your sub XO’d between 40(?) & 80. BTW: music & vocal “punch” is between 100 & ~250 hz * set manually Forgive my…
  • Please explain TBH? I’ve seen that in several of your posts - clueless

  • Shopping for a replacement driver for same. Polk CS no help. Repaired I’d sell it for cost of the same plus shipping.
  • Update/correction: OP got me to thinkin’ I should measure those A7 woofers (OP refers to them as mid bass) They are 8 ohm drivers. Measured w/a borrowed, accurate device for testing LL phone circuits. My bad. I should have measured, not assumed …

  • 1. Bigger speaker wire. 2. I’ve often been surprised at the results of upgrading to bigger internal speaker to mid-bass & especially woofers. Further it’s practically a free performance improver. 3. Dedicated multiple higher current powe…
  • @ mantis: for reasons that are too many and too detailed, your last post suggested to me where to look &, possibly & easily, solve my system’s hum problem. Up until now the “fix” is run/ground my DirecTV feed through my power conditioner.…

  • SW subsonic filter mod? W/out a schematic, nearly impossible. Much of the improvements you cite “going EXO” doesn’t surprise me. I’m not clear how your mid-bass drivers are now wired. In series? (8 ohms) In parallel? (2 ohms eek!) If 2 ohms, t…

  • How about a cart suggestion for a mid ‘80s Planar 3 - a low output MC?
  • I have a P3 w/ the same arm in the pic which, BTW, to upgrade, would set you back about double of that table & arm*. Its* way under priced considering the SQ it delivers. A major pain to set up but it’s a set & forget package.
