I have a pair of 7B's from the late seventies, anyone know where to go or if it is possible to have the box / cabinet refinished? I assume it is a laminate with a vinyl or maybe even a wood covering

    lptocd,

    Welcome to the forum.

Can you post a pic? If I remember correctly, those are probably a walnut veneer. What part of the country are you in? My business is antique furniture restoration and I might know someone in your area. In any case, you need to take them to a professional restoration shop. Be sure to remove all the drivers and the crossover/speaker terminals first. I'd be glad to help you the best I can.

Thank's for the reply. I am in Mt. Washington near interstate 83 and the baltimore beltway 695.

I have the original brochure- for Cabinet finish is written `Walnut or Rosewood woodgrain vinyl` I have the walnut.

F1 - is that in the realm of Ayrton Senna?

Ah, the Mt. Washington Tavern, I use to haunt that place at times.

You can't refinish vinyl per say, but it may be possible to revive it as long as it's not ripped/torn, etc. Another choice would be to have them veneered with real wood veneer. What kind of damage do they have?

Yes, in that realm. Do you follow F1?

It's ripped, one speaker has fingernail catching gouges on the top (approx. 1 mm in width, 40 mm in length) and two corner chips. Strip off the vinyl and replace with wood veener, sounds like a lot of work - but the speakers mean a lot to me - I need to evaluate the expense- no need to talk price - I have an idea.

Michelin is talking pretty big the past couple of weeks, saying their new tire is worth nearly a second per lap.

Thanks for the help, anyone you recommend? and where is Brookville?

It certainly sounds like it's veneer time. If PSA veneer is used then the vinyl probably won't have to be removed which would save some money.

I hope Michelin has improved this year because I think Williams might have had a good shot last year with my man JPM. Is Toyota your team? Things are looking up at Jaguar this year too. I sure as hell hope there is more competition this season.

the team bosses at ferrari have said they have made more of a stride forward with the f2003 then they did with the f2002. hell they are starting with the 2002 car down under. don't get your hopes up, it will be a ferrari year again!! maybe not the point margin of last year but ferrari none the less.
