    Har,
I have several Soundcraftsmens. Four 375W per channel into 8 ohm pro-800's. Three other 375W per's, two 190 per (cute little things). Soundcraftmen rules. The next best thing before tubes. Very smooth compared to Carver. Be wary of beat up old ones on ebay though.

    Har,
I hate to tell you this but it is not a 2000 watt amp. He got that from the row of LED's on the front panel. The top LED's have 1000 watts written on it. This is for peaks on the power meter and does not represent the power ratings. The actual power per channel into 8 ohms is (I believe from memory) either 275 or 325 but I'm not sure which.

I actually have this one and it is no slacker. The 100 or so LED's on the front panel are a delight to watch and the sound is awesome. A few steps up is their pro model which has 375 watts per channel into 8 ohms. There is a perceiveable difference in power but this one is nice!

I also have one of the little ones like your other one. (PCR 800 or something?) It is OK but is harsh and low power compared to the one you are waiting on.

    Thanks for the link Har!
Don't worry, you will not be disappointed with the DDR-1200. I had already decided that I would never sell mine. There are some with more power but sound is everything and this one has a great sound. If you ever run across the RA7502 pick it up. That is the big brother to the DDR-1200. Same sound but even more power. Once you compare it to the little one you have you will be very impressed! I would suggest hooking up to cheap speakers to test out once you receive. I have seen several on ebay which have some connections inside which have pulled loose. Take the top cover off and make sure everything looks good before hooking up.
    Good luck!

    Chuck,

Again thanks for the Tip, that is a smart idea removing the top
cover and checking if everything is OK...pretty smart, but the thing is that I don't have a cheap speaker though. I will find a cheap one...or borrow my brother's... Bose:D

What are the models of Soundcraftsmen's, do you have?

    Bose should work fine.

    RA7502 x4
    DDR-1200
    PCR800
A900PRO x2 (My friend has a downpayment on these)

    Chuck,

How do you compare your DDR 1200 to Adcom 5802, if
    you have the Adcom 5802's?

I dont have any Adcoms. Compared to the Carvers it is smoother and has a more pleasing sound. The Carvers are a little more clinical sounding to me.

I think, I have to find one more of the DDR 1200 to use as
    Mono Blocks. ;)

Do you have any idea how much power there is if you will hook it up as a mono? I don't think that the seller is right of 2000watts
    for mono...that's too much power:confused:

My guess would be 1100 watts max into 4 ohms but I'm guessing. Once you get yours and decide you like it let me know if you want a second one.
Rather than bridging you would be better off using them bi-amped. They have a very sweet sound in that mode. At least that is the way they sound best to me.

    Chuck,

Do you have this option to your DDR 1200, A Mono Mode...
    Why? is there another Version...

    Har,
See that white line on the piece of plastic next to the "A" input? If you pull that piece out (there is a connector hooked to the back of it) and insert the other way with the white line completing the one going to the mono output then it is in bridged mode and you use that output for mono operation with nothing hooked to "A" or "B". You then feed the input signal into the "A" input.

    Chuck,
You said that If I want a second one I will let you know. Why?
are you willing to part yours or do you know someone who can part theirs. I'm kinda interested with another one to match it.

I already tested mine but something is wrong with it. I noticed that if it was hooked to the speaker with the power on, but no signal from the preamp or nothing connected from any signal, the speaker seems to have a humming and hizzing sound that sounds like it was grounded. I am up for amplifier check and repair if necessary.

I like the LED's on the front panel it is delightful to watch and
it sounds ok to me compared to the small one I have.

    Har,
I've been trying to build up an LP/SACD/DVD-Audio collection lately and have decided to sell my DDR-1200 for around $400 if I can find a buyer.

As for that hum/hissing sound, these amps are dead quiet when working properly. You may have a cold solder joint or something inside. Check your inputs to make sure the adaptors are not dirty. (the 1/4" to RCA jack adaptors).
