$209, delivered.

Stereophile Budget Components of 1995. Sold by Parts Connection in kit form ($400), or relabled assembled from Sonic Frontiers ($650 IIRC). The Assemblage DAC-1 uses an Analog Devices AD847 op-amp chip as its output driver. Dual 20 bit processors, a real sleeper D/A. Cardas inputs and outputs, coax or glass. Detachable IEC (a generic cord provided upon request). Outstanding condition, I'd like this one stay in the 'family', they don't come up for sale very often.

Cheers,
Russ

*whimpers and whines and wishes he had more money*

I know _nothing_ Analog Devices or their DACs, but this certainly seems like a great, cheap way to get a DAC.

I can't tell you Joe, I've never listened to a 2000, I've had a 1600 - and it would be close. Think of the Assemblage as a minimalist design. A race horse. A car built for the track, not the street. Simple, VERY effective, with quality components.

No big deal at all, for instance my AMC CD8b have dual 24 bit and they sound MUCH better using the Assemblage for D/A vs the internal processors. Bitrate isn't always everything in my experience.

Um, I love you to Steve.....

Joe, it's yours if you want it. It has 2 inputs, one toslink, one 75ohm coax - you can hook up two players, and switch via the front mounted toggle.

    So Joe it is then?

Yep, I got it. Btw, who put the kit together and was it properly done? I was looking at an Adcom model, do you think yours is as good or better?
