Anyone able to supply info regarding efficiency of these vintage monitors? I use them as my primaries for 2 channel listening, and just wondering how they rate relative to say, my RTI 70's. Currently running tubes at 40 wpc which seems to be plenty, but wondering how they'd respond to lo-powered 10 to 20 watt source.

Thanks,

Kevin

    Kevin,

    I believe they're 89 db efficient.

That helps, thanks. It appears they're right up there then in the range of he RTIs, and should be able to handle some lower wattage. I've toyed with the idea of seeing what my amp would sound like if adapted to lower output, say in the range of 8 watts, but thinking I might find it somewhat underpowered without stepping up to some seriously efficient (horns) speakers.

    Cheers,

    K.

Are yours the model 7 or a version?

My Monitor 7C's are rated @ 91dB if it's of any help...
