How weird is this? Pretty sure I won't be responding cuz I have his name but don't plan to offer mine up with a reply. I have an Onkyo receiver up on CL for a couple weeks now, but not anywhere else. I got the following message this morning -

I read your posting and then went on the internet and looked up links with the same receiver as you have for sale. ON ONE LINK THE PERSON WAS SAYING NOT TO BELIEVE YOU CAUSE YOU WERE FULL OF BULL ! And on another link they were saying " watch out for that guy, he'll steer you wrong ." talking about you ! I am glad I looked at what they had to say .

It's all in Bold and up-sized font to emphasize how terrible I am, I guess. Since he doesn't know who I am, how's he know who they were talking about?

He sent another one saying that I must be desperate to sell this junk.

I am pretty sure it's not a good idea to respond at all, right?

    Seems typical. Craigslist, wacko's galore.

It's possible that there is some sort of trigger embedded in that e-mail. Like when people on here open an account, post a comment, and somewhere in that comment there is a blue link. Sometimes those just lead to a sales page, but sophisticated ones can implant crap into your registry and wreak havoc. It's best not to open those links or respond to those e-mails/threads/comments.

  • Yeah they’re out there.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

That sounds kind of like "Monster Receiver" guy from Indiana. He's a total nut job.

You should have an option to report the user to craigslist. I believe there’s options in the email (usually at the end). But, yeah,I would not reply to this!

Very weird guy. Could be a typical troll looking for attention, or could be a total nutjob. I notice he sent them at close to 2AM or so. No job either, I assume.

I would ignore him also. He's just WEIRD!

Around here on my CL, I see, once in a while, an ad that discredits a seller or buyer. Some like to warn the public of other jerks they just had a bad experience with. I'm very thankful for those posters who warn us of trouble.

I posted an ad on CL warning the public about a guy who buys but doesn't have all the money to pay but promised to come back in a week to pay, BUT DOESN'T.
He didn't like that at all! :D

Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
