Rest in Peace, Senator. And thank you -

It's also telling that many don't do their research before making statements like that. John has requested himself that the current president NOT attend his funeral. No secret there that they both never found that middle ground.

…..and if that Arabian proverb held true, the current president would be invited into sainthood. :)

Enough of that though, John has passed and we wish him and his family our condolences.

I had the great honor of asking Senator McCain a question on live television back in the day when he ran for president. A cherished memory I’ll never forget. God speed good sir and honorable American. May you always be remembered with respect and admiration. Rest In Peace.

He was not perfect, but he did understand what it meant to be a public servant.
    I respect him.

We need more leaders on both sides of the isle who actually served this country in the military, as Senator McCain did. Sad we live in a time where we have allowed political figures to divide us as a country to win office. RIP.
  • He was one of the few politicians I respected for strong moral character and convictions. He had a way of seeing every side of every issue. We may never have another like him.

Didn't he say that he didn't want Trump at his funeral?..And didn't Trump reply that he didn't care..he had better things to do..like running the country..He did say Carter,Clinton,Bush and Obama were welcome...

Can't believe there have not been more well wishes for a military vet POW who has served his country loyally for almost 60 years! Shows how deeply divided we are here; if we can't gather around this person there may be no hope of common ground..

Grace and peace be with his family. Thank you for your dedication to your ideals up to the end.

I'm waiting until his funeral is done and some time has passed.

Then again, I might not even comment any further than I already have.

    What would be the point!

    RIP McCain.

I would have to respectfully disagree. I guess you could call me pro-McCain yet I haven't commented. Why? Not sure. I just don't usually comment in these threads.

Anyway, much respect for his service and the suffering he endured for our freedom.

Gonna be honest, I don’t follow politics so I don’t know who Senator John was. You guys make him out to be a great guy, and I can definitely respect that he was in the military.
