Something new and not too high end, since this will be for our 2nd TV. Alot of the Samsung and LG ones look way cheap...perhaps a Sony or Yamaha?
Really looking to spend under 200 and dont need 3d or 4k....thanks

Sony UBP 800, but if you don't need 4k or 3D then just about any one you kind find at Walmart or best buy should do the trick, I would probably just get one of the cheaper Sonys and be done with it.

Up your budget 50 bucks and get one of these you don't have to use the 4K and 3D options but will be available should you change your mind. I have seen these on E-Bay for $150, pretty versatile player for not much coin. I have been using mine more than my Oppo player latley.

I am on the Oppo list for a 203. If I fail to get one this Sony mentioned above will be my default.
2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

I just realized our TCL P series TV is 4k capable. I have not seen any 4k content yet so that Sony may be the ticket.

    Get a Sony,

I've owned or still have Samsung, Panasonic, LG and some off brand stuff. In the end it's always a fallback to Sony.

Oppo and Pioneer Elite are better but out of your price range.

TheUBP X700 is right at your budget. It's the same as the 800 except with a cheaper case, power brick, and smaller. It can do Dolby Vision where the x800 can't. The X800 looks like it's built better and is standard component size but it's a little more expensive. I went with the X700 and I have no complaints. It loads discs quickly and doesn't skip. My only complaint is it's a little noisy but I have it in a cabinet now and since it doesn't generate any heat (power brick outside cabinet), it can make all the noise it wants in there.

  • Check online and search the price under 200, you will found a lot.

I already have a modded Oppo UDP-105D + high end Pioneer Plasma, and have been slow (ok, non-action) to adopt 4k. But when I do... that Sony UBP-X800 looks like a reasonably priced option for 4K.
