Reminds me about one night when I was cranking out reports and other work cr@p while having a few brews. I always have a variety in my fridge, alternating the crafts with my daily drivers. Well I had already had a few by 10pm and not paying attention I grabbed a Shmaltz He'Brew Jewbelation Reborn 17%. It was in a variety pack I had bought and I had no idea that it was a 17%.

Long story short, finished it, I quit working, hit the fridge, and the bed soon after drinking it.

I think @Malbec told me about the “syringe technique” for stouts a couple years ago, in this thread, and i tend to do it to most. I pull a small amount of up into the syringe and then inject it back into the beer at a fast rate. It causes some sort of chemical reaction which releases nitrogen creating a much creamier beer.

Or......i could have made this all up during a bad quualude hit...... ;)

As much as i like going to breweries, at some point, i get tired of the smells. If i ever (and that’s a big EVER) find myself in Columbus Ohio, i will be sure to look this place up.

    Check these guys out.
    9f377lrtzxcq.jpg

With the stouts, the syringe method knocks some of the CO2 out of suspension making it closer to a mix gas, making it a bit flatter. Like a draft beer.

Now if Frederique found some NOS Rorer714's or Lemmons, there would be an extra step, he wouldn't mainline.
He would draw 1 or 2 cc's into the syringe and ...um... think suppository.

Ah, 714's, those were the days.

Love this thread. I currently have 368 different brews under my belt. I’m a huge stout/porter fan myself. Currently one of my favorite local breweries is Hardywood. I’m a Family Tree member so all the new brews being released I’m the first to try them. Currently have about 57-750 ml bottles waiting to be poured so anyone in the area wanna stop by let me know.

Very short season, but oh so good. Not too spicy/pumpkiny (probably not actually a word) but very nice. Big, big alchol content at 8.2% though. Drink at your own risk.
