Another SDA CRS, this time the +

Just got this CRS + pair, seems real wood veneer, but I’m not sure which iteration this is. Probably transitional because it still has the holes where the previous 2 tweeter versions had the blade/blade jack.

I am willing to upgrade it for the RD0198, never heard one before. All it takes is a 5.8uf cap across the 2.7ohm resistor, right?

Thanks for you guidance.

You'll have to plug that hole.

The TL schematic is posted here.

This ^^^^^, and the 2.7 ohm resistor is already there. You're shunting it with the 5.8uf Capacitor.

Most definitely! I’ll plug the hole with two matching rubber plug caps.

I liked the way the blade / blade two tweeters version sounded, the dimensional tweeter was unplugged... I know diferente animal.
    Courious about this.
    Thanks

These sound sweet, very nice and mellow mid range. I toke a picture of a crossover. The stereo mid-bass is the 6510 and the dimensional 6511...

I measured resistance between meg and pos terminal I got different readings:

    Left 4.9ohm
    Right 5.8ohm

I have soldered the connections and replaced the ties, it's all well secured now.
Could a 5.6UF cap be used instead of 5.8UF on the TL mod? is just about 3.5% off.

    If that 5.6uF is +/- 10% and it's -10% it's no longer 3.5% off.

    Nice find!
Not Tom, or Trey, or Jim
    Main setup:
Speakers are one of three, Mission Freedom 770 IV’s, Polk LSi25’s, or Polk SDA-CRS (stock XO, SL2000’s, Blade/Blade model). Electronics are as follows: for the LSi’s and SDA’s, a Technics SU-v75 acting as a phono preamp, into a Yamaha RX-v665, into a Crown XLi800 power amplifier. For the Missions, I have a Lafayette LR-1100. Turntable is a Technics SL-3200, with a Shure M97xE. Cables are generic/soon to be replaced garbage.
An old post I found on AK, from 2013.
I've always thought the goal of high end audio was not to have your neighbors bang on the wall and say, 'Turn that darn music down' but to have your neighbors bang on the wall and say, 'Tell your friends to go home and you can practice later this week'.

    Good point, thanks.

I have used Clarity ESA and Sonicaps Gen I on crossovers, both excellent.

For this project, I am thinking of Jantzen Superior for the tweeter and Jantzen Standard for the ones parallel with mid-bass drivers. Anyone used Jantzen caps on these Polks before?
