For a hotel. Galena Illinois, or close to it. Waterfront would be nice, hot tub. Currently looking at the Goldmoor. Anything else I should be looking at ?

Does it need to be near deep water and any stores that sell concrete?

Vegas is what you make it these days. My wife and I go to the Venetian, walk the shops and restaurants, head over to Caesar’s and do the same. Make use of the spas... Catch a show or two and stay out of the casinos.

Can be very romantic if you want it to be.

Tony I can tell you haven't been to the Venetian before! it is almost all marble...when you walk the shops inside it has a fake sky that moves and makes you feel out doors.

with water in the center and Gondolas drivers who can take you for a ride sort of like Venice! Vegas is what you make it to be. some seriously excellent restaurants there ;)

My Favorite one is the Lexor steak house! and I never tried one of the Venetians restaurants yet and can only imagine how special they maybe...

So for you Italians may not like a fake Italian places but for me it seemed special.

One of my best friends got married there and I was his best man and we got a limo ride to the Venetian and they took the Gondola ride in their tux and wedding dress :) was pretty cool if you ask me B)

Couldn’t help there Tony. Don’t know the area. But I could say. Romantic getaway doesn’t really involve price or place. It’s the company of each other. Sitting at a table eating the best food by myself is nothing. I could eat dirt and have the same feeling.

I do recommend Turks and Caicos though. Just in case... when I vacation I want to be away from crowds, but soak in beautiful views, amazing food. Perfect for romance.

    Cheers Tony.

Man, ya know I love you guys, but reading comprehension isn't your strong suit tonight.
Galena, Illinois....not Vegas, not the Turk's. BTW, I've been to just about every hotel in Vegas, and while cool and all that not romantic in my book. Plus the wife hates Vegas. Plus I have 2 days, so flying somewhere is out.

Maybe the Iowa guys or Rockford crowd will chime in.

Not waterfront, but the Jail Hill Inn looks like it might fit the bill if you like B&B style.

I remember camping there back in the 90's. Got up early on our last day to go into town to gas up before heading home. After the fill up I went to go pay inside and the place was closed and doors locked. Someone forgot to shut the pumps off the day before. Contacted the place the next day and mailed the gas money to them. I've wondered how many got away with free gas.

Thanks pal, looks like a cool place, but the wife wants a whirlpool tub/hot tub....not a bathtub with jets, know what I'm sayin'.

Man, least Ryan has my back, the rest of you..... :):):) Basically what I'm asking is, for your help getting laid and you throw Vegas at me ? LMAO My wife has a distain for Vegas something fierce.

Romantic gents....like hot tubs with a view of rolling hills, water, privacy, balcony or walk out, expensive wine and no clothes. Get the picture ?

I have never stayed at the goldmoor but have been by it. It definitely has river views but if memory serves me correctly it’s a little ways off the river. It is out in the country. I looked into it a few years back for my anniversary. We ended up staying at the best western right as you come into galena on 20. We stayed in one of their themed rooms. I honestly don’t think you could go wrong with the goldmoor. They do have a few bed and breakfast places but are all downtown galena. There is a Irish pub next to happy joes that had really good food and entertainment. It called frank o dowds.
