This is why you have seen all the sale items I have been hawking. Still have to sell the 2.3s and other stuff. More to come! We are going to convert the basement into an ADU (accessory dwelling unit). I hadn't spent as much time listening like I did when I worked 3-12 hour shifts like I had for 7 years or so. My wife is retiring soon and we are going to plan on maybe moving into the smaller basement and rv traveling after I retire in about 7 years. So a couple of years to do the conversion to make the basement liveable/rentable. This will allow us to stay in the city and hopefully keep the house longer. So down to one system combining tv and stereo in the upstairs living room. The 703s sound great with the BAT pre/amp combo. Tivo sounds much better though the Buffalo Pro 9028 via optical compared to using the old Buff II. Using the Ultrarendu for streaming all the files on the computer throughout the house is the best! Cha cha changes
Main system: Lyngdorf TDAI 2170 w/ Pioneer 42" plazma-> Polk LSiM 703 w/Tivo, Marantz tuner, BRPTT: Nothingham Spacedeck-> Pioneer PL L1000 linear arm-> Soundsmith DL 103R-> SUT->Bottlehead ErosDigital: I3 PC w/ Jriver playing flac -> Sonore Ultrarendu -> Twisted Pair Audio ESS 9028 w/ Mercury IVY Vinyl rips: ESI Juli@24/192-> i3 PC server

Nothing wrong with a duel purpose system, so long as you enjoy the sound.

Haven't had a 2.1 setup in a long time time. First good hi fi was Genesis speakers and dalquist sub and xover and hafler pre/amp kits and vinyl.
Using a parts express sub amp with hi and low pass filters and an old speaker lab 12" sub. Sounds better than the ps p-5 by a long shot.

Spent the first 30 years in the country, spent almost all of the second thirty in Seattle. We'll see what happens for the next ? years. My wife is born and raised in Seattle. We love camping.

Congratulations I guess :( it is what it is as long as you have enjoyed it parting is sweet sorrow. I guess camping in the beautiful outdoors of Washington is worth it, plus RV'ing around the countryside sounds like a great gig, put a decent rig together in the RV enjoy.

Sounds like a worthwhile endeavor. I retired about a year ago, and have camped more since then vs. the previous 5+ years. Enjoy post-retirement life ... I know I sure am!

Bikerboy I still use your old stand in my office system. Works great.
  • I am heading to retirement too in about 4 years. Everything coming out of the basement. Hard to sell some stuff but hoping they find a good home. Good luck
