I ordered what I thought was a CD for $10.99 a dollar cheaper than the same selection above for $11.99. It arrived today as a DSD disc from Europe what a deal, upon further inspection of the Best Buy site it was marked at $19.99 with $9.00 off. Pretty good deal, no
What's the difference between a DSD disc and a SACD disc? I'm assuming my OPPO or Sony, or Marantz converts it from PCM to analog correct?

What is the difference between a SACD, and a DSD disc as this appears to be a SACD.

If there is a PCM layer then the Oppo will play the PCM on disc

If you want to listen to the DSD layer the copy it to thumb drive. You must have the supporting Oppo

No worries it plays on the Oppo, it plays on the Marantz SACD player, plays on my other Marantz players plays on the Kenwood in the truck, so what is this DSD disc just a regular CD at 24 bits? I can tell you what Mick Taylor and the boys have never sounded better, this one sounds pretty darn good right now. Mick Taylor Stones era is the best.

    Just read up on it
It's a highly regarded SACD 2.0 remaster 2002, so will play in all SACD players

    Enjoy

I got a hella deal on it for $10.99 shipped. I provided the link at the top of the original post, so if anyone is looking for a great deal on a classic Stones DSD disc get one while they are still available.

Most of the stones stuff was remastered with DSD. Not all disc's that say DSD on them have a SACD layer. Many are in fact just CD's This picture is of one.5nqldsi5qi4c.jpg
This one below actually is SACD notice the extra SACD icon on the disc. mrgfnbw3zqy9.jpg
So one must be careful. Unless it turns on a SACD light or plain says SACD on the display that is just a DSD remastered CD like the one in my picture. It will not has has not tripped any light or display to say SACD in any of my five SACD players through my rig.

So mine is just a DSD disc then is it a 24 bit or a 16 bit?
