Should I connect my TV to my DAC?

I watch a lot of music documentaries and I am wondering should I run an optical cable so I can listen through my Ushers or is this against the law?

Yeah, it's sitting by the TV looking at me.

Obviously the quality of the digital circuitry in the tv is the limiting factor here, but it will still sound better absolutely. what is the source? A built in app on your tv? If that’s the case then a Roku or some other dedicated streaming device would be a better so Bri g optIon, and yuh can get one for like 50 bones if u look around...

Be careful. Sometimes sending light through one of them there op-tickle cables opens a wormhole to another dimension. You don't want to slip into the abyss of a hell where Bon Jovi is the frontman for Led Zeppelin.

@rooftop59 its the Amazon app on the TV. I have a Fire Stick that I never use, why is that better?

I watched Jon Bon Jovi on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this weekend and I'm 99% sure he completely plucks all of his eyebrows off and then draws them on. I did enjoy his speech though. Just thought I'd share that random tidbit.

Well, that won’t be better because it’s only hdmi and you need optical coax or usb I’m assuming. You would need dedicated streaming box with optical out like the Roku ultra or an older amazon fire tv. Those are optimized for streaming, they might give you a slightly better audio signal, but probably not by much honestly.

Hook it up to the tv and let er rip!

Kinda like that guilty feeling you get when you play a porno video through a $1k DAC?

Plug it into the TV saw light at the other end. Plugged it into the DAC and it makes a God awful growl before switching the TV output to optical.

Duh, I could put it on the HT to test it. I was just stuck on "the other optical cable I have it too short" thanks Ron. I can't think my way out of a paper bag! I almost died like that a couple of times. :#
