Lets argue about, I mean debate the different hook ups

I have gotten some conflicting opinions on the best way too hook up my new Rhytmik sub. Some say speaker level and some say pre outs. What say yall? Feel free to phrase your question in the form of an answer.

FYI, my new sub is still at Rhytmik keeping fresh. They won't send it to me until I pay them for it.

Try them both and see which one sounds better?!

    BOOM. EOT.

    Depends on application.

Preouts will work for either application, but line level is probably better in a 2-channel application.

Personally can’t believe they want payment before delivery. Your avatar has such an honest looking face.

I would presume it is entirely dependant on what source you have available (assuming both) that would give you the greatest dynamic range. The more headroom the better. Also, how much input signal can the sub accept before overdriving the internal preamp?

YeastYboy, that is an interesting pusstulate. Please expand and expound. If the amp in the sub is not drawing any current does the speaker level output affect it?

assuming there is a power amplifier in the sub, and that its line-level input sensitivity (ahem and impedance) is aligned (so to speak) with the (attenuated) line-level output available to you -- I have to think that working with a line level input is "right".

I always thought/believed/assumed that "speaker level" inputs were provided as a kludge for folks who lack a line-level output signal that is subject to the same attenuation as the signal being fed to the main loudspeakers (or the power amplifier for same).

Not that I really know or anything -- but that doesn't stop me from having a deeply-held opinion :#

It just always seemed inelegant to me to take a power amplifier signal that is meant to drive a loudspeaker & then do funny things with it. Doesn't seem fair, to me, to the amplifier or to the signal.

Serious, I have pre outs on my Ampino and Rhytmic said to use them to avoid distortion. I am pretty confused G00gle is not my friend. Join the club

Ok, as I see it, if the incoming signal from either source isn't hot enough, the sub can never reach its full potential. Inversely, if the signal is too hot, distortion is a given no matter what you do. So therefore we need to know the subs input limit. The closer the signal at full trot is to the limit before clipping, the better the performance.

I like the way you think, I don't understand it but I like it none the less. I will have to get a pair of sub cables and hear what the difference its. I already have a decent pair of speaker cables for the job. More $$$$$ doh!

@Clipdat not economical when you have upgradeitis, I got BJC's on my subs and I have been good with those but I do want to put fancy power cords on them. :#

All these computers and phones do is watch you. Listening. Waiting. I didn't even type asperger correctly and 3 of the recommended videos when I just pulled up YouTube were about aspergers. I've never searched the Internet about aspergers, I've never watched any YouTube videos on it, I just typed it incorrectly in this thread one time.

P.S. If you're not running an ad blocker you should be.

Can you block the back door? I knew they were watching when they put magnetic strips on everything let alone chips.

Your microwave has been eavesdropping on you.

To my ears speaker level sounds the best. The reason I believe is that the sub is getting the exact same signals as the speakers.

    https://callnerds.com/how-targeted-advertising-works-online/
For example, post a joke about Viagra on a friend’s Facebook page, and suddenly you are bombarded by advertisements for sexual enhancement. What if those ads were to show up on your work computer through your linked browser or logins? In these circumstances, targeted advertising seems unnecessary and unwelcome.

You may be asking yourself: is there anything that is actually private online anymore? The answer is, no, even things that feel like they should be private aren’t. The information gathered when you go online is collected by various sources, including your internet service provider tracking where you go online. Your browser may track sites you visit in order to populate banner ads, and websites can use tracking cookies on your computer or log your IP address to see what pages you visit, how long you stay, and if you buy anything. The more sophisticated tracking sites track when you visit, and how often you click on something; this data is used to send targeted advertising at the right time in a format that you are most likely to find appealing.

Even what you believe to be private communication may be scanned for the purpose of placing more accurate advertisements. Google searches emails sent and received through Gmail for keywords to populate ads. Facebook captures everything you do; posts you create, like, or share, articles you click on, and more. Facebook can even see what you are doing when you are not logged in. If you use the “Login With Facebook” feature of third party websites, or click on “Share” buttons when you visit sites to post links to social media, the information is sent to Facebook in regards to your activity on those third party sights.

I knew about targeted ads, but what you described is something the degree of which I've not (yet) experienced.

You're right about tying into other accounts. Any time I'm faced with any sort of "ease of use" benefit, I try to say no, and for sites offering to use a Google or FB account as a sign=in, I'd also say no, and create a separate account with a secondary/junk/marketing email account, if possible.
