My garage rig has been unused for the last year. We moved and the new house has a very large detached cinder block 3-car garage (26' x 40'). Unfortunately, the previous owner never ran power outlets except for a few in the rafters for the garage door openers and lights. At some point, I will be running conduit and outlets to 4 or 5 spots along with additional lighting. So far, it has fallen low on the priority list. Whenever that's done, I will have my old Realistic STA-870 receiver hooked to some vintage Mission speakers that have seen better days, but still sound nice. I use my original PS1 as a CD player. Not counting the original cost of the PS1, I have zero invested in this system.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Here's mine, sub under the workbench, speakers on shelves. There are no elctronics, as it is all run off the main system's zone2. Well there is the old 13" TV which allows me to control everything, and select CD's from the garage.

Thread back from the dead...very happy with this budget system in the garage:

Tandberg TL 5010 speakers with upgraded caps and resistors
    Kenwood KA-701 integrated amp
    Modded Magnavox CD Player

1991 Nissan 300ZX all up in the sweet spot and some Christmas lights.

Currently the shop has just an XM boombox. Once I get energy enough, I'll dig thru some boxes and find my Pioneer SX-780.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant
