    Tony, having been in the same situation....you did the right thing. I know you don’t need my validation on that but it somehow helped me to hear when my wife, kids and I went through the same decision with our Zoe.

    Sorry for your loss, it's a tough decision to make, Tony.

    We had to do the same with our dachshund a couple years ago and still miss her, so I know how you feel. Dogs become a family member and their loss is felt for a long time.

    It's been about 50 years since my childhood pet dog Blackie had to be put down, and I still get choked up at the thought of what you have just been through.

    So very sorry to hear of this :( Our animal friends have unconditional love for us(well, an occasional treat probably helps of course :) ).....but their loss sure brings a hole in our human hearts that's for sure. Lost my 21year old Chloe the wonder cat about three years ago and while we have acquired three more feline companions there will only always be ONE Chloe, just like there will always just be ONE like her...take care!

    I'm very sorry for your loss. We had to put our perfectly healthy 11 year old Bichon down a few weeks ago. She snapped at our lab and our lab snapped back, bit her once out of reaction at getting snapped at, but she bit her just right and paralyzed her :(

    We had figured we'd get 7+ more years out of her. It's a really crappy feeling coming home everyday and she's not there to greet us.
