Bluetooth receiver

Looking for a Bluetooth receiver. Want to stay under $100. Needs to be portable so I know that won't be a problem at my price point.

Thanks!

No. For home. Want to be able to quickly hook up to any of my receivers. HT,family room and garage. Looking for suggestions, too. It will not be used for critical listening but I'd like a good quality sound from it.

+1 on the Chromecast Audio. All you need is WiFi, and you’re good to go. The Chromecast will give you more range than BT since everything goes through your WiFi.

We have two at our house and we love them.

^^ These have fairly good reviews, using BT3, simple, and have real RCA's on the back ^^
Can't beat the price, especially as this replaces the old BT2 model they had for over $100

Above your price point but something I've been considering since they use higher end components.

That little logitech bt3 unit... I bought one for the hell of it (~$20). When you asked about portable I figured palm-sized, but this thing is tiny. Its about the size of the OpticalMiniDAC I have hidden behind the stereo. The provided rca to 3.5mm is handy for the idea of protable, but of course I have mine patched in with a regular stereo rca cable.

Compared to the Technics receiver this thing is tiny:

Took about 2 seconds to tooth in...
Played some opera selections, and played some Hendrix live, very clear results and no cut-outs even from 25ish feet away and through walls. Much more than I'd expect from a potato chip.
Paused the track and cranked the volume to '20' (where '10' is ear-splitting) to find a barely audible radio hiss (expected from BT devices but I've had some real crap ones in the past) and no other artifacts from the BT3 unit. Very clean.

To disconnect -- you can either disconnect on your player, push the button on top of the BT3 unit (which disconnects and opens it up to a new pairing device), or just turn off the stereo (if you have your DACs plugged into the switched outlets in the back).

I'm happy... no more headphone cable to my phone introducing loop noise (though usually I stream through the TV over the fiber for just that reason... but whatever).
    YMMV as always.
