I looked for information on the Infinity speakers and they seem to function about the same as the Polk speakers do in terms of bi-amping. The internal crossover still remains part of the circuit, just like the Polks do.
The other problem is that there really aren't very many (if any) active electronic crossovers available these days. -
Yeah, I remember looking for an active crossover a while back, and I couldnt find one.
Oops, guess I was wrong on the infinities... maybe I should do more research into the speakers I used for 6 months
Could you post the link that you used for the infinity speakers? I have actually looked really hard for the info but they were never popular and circuit city didn’t sell many, so there isn’t much information about them (that I could find anyway). -

Looking at it, I don’t believe that the low pass drivers would be powered if I removed the terminals and only plugged in the top. Or maybe there is something I’m missing. I’ll play with it for a little bit tonight to see, and come back and report.

Yeah just played with it, the lower woofers aren’t powered, just the mid and tweeter, but nothing below around 500 hertz (? I don’t know the crossover points in this speaker).
I did forget how nice those infinities sound though, might have to hook them up and play around with them for a little while. -
You are correct, you would either remove the binding posts and bi-wire from your amp to the speakers. Or, use a second amp to the lower binding posts and bi-amp the speakers.
The Infinity is different from your LSi25, they don't have a self contained bass amp. -
Right sorry, it was a little confusing before, by powered I meant they weren’t receiving power if you didn’t understand that (I should probably read through my posts a little more thoroughly and not come back two hours later
