I saw that one from "Rob" that John posted, but it was a poor description from what I could see.

Sorry you had to go through this John. I’d been following the thread as well. I’m glad it all worked out about as good as could have been expected. I do also want to thank you for the incredible story, with an ending we were all hoping for! Now you can put it behind you and laugh about it in the future! Enjoy the weekend man.

I would be content just to see a Go-Pro video of him answering the door in his Howard Hughes bathrobe. :p

So the real question is how many units were in his trailer park?

No trailer park... this looked to be a pretty nice house.

John, if the transaction went through audiomart, what are you going to do about leaving feedback? If you leave truthful negative feedback, can he do the same to you and tarnish your feedback score? Gunbroker for example, if you leave someone feedback, you can go back and change it later. So if someone leaves you positive feedback and you decide to leave negative feedback, they can go back and change the positive to negative as retribution.

Initially I left very positive feedback, but I have since deleted it.

I'm glad you were close enough to go in person and get it back.

My step Daughter got scammed through Ebay but the seller was 3 states away. The seller didn't ship the item over a couple or 3 weeks. So she got their local Police Dept. to pay them a visit and that did it. The local police knew of this shady shop owner thank God. The seller, after having those Police officers visited her, shipped the item that day. LOL.

Thanks to Police where ever they are. They help us in more ways than are ever known or heard about unless it's a close personal shared experience. Like yours. I loved the K-9 unit assisted!

I got to know a K-9 unit years ago and that guy and his dog partner were soooo close it was amazing to watch them together. Such smart dogs and caring trainers.

As I read this thread, I think the guy was planning on selling it and shocked he hadn't. I believe he has found a way to make income by scamming. I think it just didn't sell fast enough or maybe he did sell it and had to go and get it back. Or go to jail.

I love that you got it back! ;)

@nooshinjohn this is another example of never give up. A lot of folks would have cut their losses, so to speak, and moved on. You didn't. You were righteous all the way, did things right, and even the recovery process you followed was the right thing.

Very happy you stuck with it, and won this one!

    Never give up!

You may consider keeping the original faceplate. A battle scar, if you will. Every time you look at it, you will be reminded of your victory in the face of adversity. A good conversation piece too, when your buddy's ask why is this thing marred in the midst of all the other pristine (i'm assuming) other gems of equipment!

That face plate might be a memory John would rather forget asap.

    Victory...yes.
    Memory...not so much.

My audio rack is now a trophy case. The faceplate will get swapped. I will order the new one next week.
