Well I had an offer I couldn't refuse fall in my lap. Picked up a near perfect (a few snags on the fabric and one side panel loose) pair of the 2.3's in walnut and the factory pin/ blade IC cable.

I forgot how big these things are! That was the primary reason he got rid of them and probably why he had trouble moving them. I'm trying to decide if they are too big for my living room. I may keep the 1C's in there and move these into my barn. My 6' 2" 300# buddy, after helping me move them into the house, said "dude! You need to stop buying speakers!". I think I agree. They sound really nice unmodified.

Hand truck and/or furniture dolly and leverage. No need to man handle them and for God's sake do not put them in your barn.

Ugh. After the usual internal mods I sat down to give them an audition and they sound muddy and the tweeters have a spot where "S" 's sound like fingernails on a chalkboard. So off they go into the spare room until I can afford new RDO's and crossovers. :(

Besides my 1C crossovers are almost done. :)

Well my 2.3s had 198s installed, but at the prodding of the "experts", I did swap them out for the 194s. Not a huge difference, but an improvement in high mids and voice detail. I'd like the opportunity to hear the 2.3tls. Lol, the problem is you really need them in my house with my system to get a real comparison.

I know my 1C's with the cab mods and 194's ( no crossover upgrade yet) sounded way better than these 2.3's in bass, mid and high clarity so it's got to be the crossovers.

Your stock 2.3's sound way better than modded 1C's? Hmmm, my 2.3's must be REALLY worn out then. Even with lowly Dayton caps for the drivers and Sonicaps for the tweeters my 1C's sound far superior.
