    yea academia is a whole different ballgame. My wife was once lamenting our retirement savings (which is actually pretty darn good), and I just said blankly that I will teach until I'm 70, and she can retire in her 50s if she wants and do whatever or nothing. I can still spend months in the summers and winter break visiting grandkids and traveling...
